We’re looking for a Cyber Operations Lead to oversee and elevate the organisation’s frontline cyber defence. You’ll lead a high-performing security operations team, respond to threats in real-time, and play a critical role in protecting our systems, data, and reputation.

This will be a permanent, full-time position based in our Sydney CBD office, with flexibility to work from home up to 2 days.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and coach a Cyber Operations team, driving a strong culture of ownership, collaboration, and learning.
  • Oversee real-time monitoring, analysis, and incident response using tools like SIEM and EDR.
  • Manage the vulnerability program, including scanning, risk assessment, and remediation tracking.
  • Partner with DevOps and Infrastructure to embed secure configurations and uplift hardening standards.
  • Drive automation and process improvements to boost threat response and operational efficiency.
  • Keep incident documentation sharp, and share insights and trends with key stakeholders.

ABOUT YOU

  • 5+ years' experience in cyber security operations, ideally in a regulated or financial services environment.
  • Strong hands-on skills with security tools (SIEM, EDR, firewalls, vulnerability management platforms).
  • Solid understanding of cloud security, Zero Trust principles, and modern cyber defence strategies.
  • Confident handling threat investigations, phishing, malware, and incident triage.
  • Experience with scripting or automation (Python, PowerShell) to improve workflows.
  • A proactive, calm leader who builds trust and communicates clearly under pressure.
