Description

 

Position Overview: This position will assist with the coordination of all volunteer and financial mentor activities for 3rd Decade.  Under the direction of the Director of Mentor and Volunteer Engagement, this role will be responsible for volunteer management activities for the organization from onboarding through continued engagement and recognition.  The position will also oversee all technology platforms and database coordination for the financial mentor and volunteer program. 

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the management of financial mentor and volunteer relationships and ongoing engagement, including:
    • Supporting the onboarding process to ensure financial mentors and volunteers have the proper technology, tools, and training to begin working with participants.
    • Coordinating the meetings between financial mentors and participants, to include initiating meeting invitations, rescheduling meetings, and ensuring post-meeting responsibilities are completed.
    • Auditing new financial mentors’ meetings with participants, providing guidance and feedback for continual improvement. 
    • Record data collection during mentorship meetings, after verifying for accuracy and completeness 
    • Assisting with and identifying recognition opportunities and activities.
  • Assists with the creation and management of training materials and resources used by financial mentors and volunteers.
  • Assists with the mentor recruitment process.
  • Oversees Salesforce and Rosterfy databases, along with other financial mentor and volunteer technologies in relation to mentor and volunteer activities, including:
    • Compiling data for the purpose of running and analyzing reports for organizational leadership.
    • Ensuring the fidelity of all mentor data in the system.
    • Provide troubleshooting for system problems and concerns.
  • Develops and conducts surveys and presents results and recommendations to leadership. 
  • Provides excellent customer service to prospective, current, and retiring volunteer financial mentors. 
  • Provides general assistance and program administration for our financial mentor and volunteer program as assigned.

Position: Full-Time

Salary:$45,000 plus benefits

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years’ work experience in volunteer management or engagement within a non-profit organization or related field, required
  • Experience using CRM, Volunteer Management System, and Database systems, preferably with experience using Salesforce.
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of staff and volunteers.
  • A concrete understanding of the basic financial literacy principles is a plus.
  • Ability to stay current with emerging trends in volunteer management and engagement.
  • Ability to think critically and have a vision for the organization as it relates to engagement and education.
  • Highly organized with great attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to adapt to fluid situations.
  • Strong proficiency in internet use, e-mail, and Google applications. Being proactive and self-motivated are valued characteristics.

Ability to think critically and have a vision for the organization as it relates to engagement and education.

Requires a concrete understanding of the basic financial literacy principles. Financial coaching or counseling experience is a plus.

1-3 years’ work experience in volunteer management or engagement within a non-profit organization or related field, required.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field preferred.
  • Bilingual (Spanish)
  • Prior experience managing diverse networks of volunteers.
  • Demonstrated track record of being able to recruit, engage, and support volunteers.
