Job Description:

GDIT is seeking an experienced Solution Architect to design, manage, and deliver and improved user experience for all members of our software development team. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of CI/CD tools and processes, source code management, microservices hosting and deployment, databases, AI tools, Jira, Confluence, Qmetry, GitLab, and testing frameworks like ReadyAPI and Playwright. The role will involve delivering a platform hosted on AWS and will require strong strategic planning, technical expertise, and leadership capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a comprehensive strategic roadmap to enhance the development platform that includes CI/CD tools, source code repositories, Kubernetes, databases, AI tools, Jira, Confluence, Qmetry, GitLab, and testing frameworks.
  • Design and implement a scalable, secure, and robust architecture hosted on AWS to support our developers and testers.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Lead the implementation of the strategic plan, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development and testing teams to optimize the use of tools and technologies.
  • Conduct regular reviews and assessments of the current development platform, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes.
  • Ensure seamless integration of various tools and technologies within the development platform.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, tools, and technologies to continually enhance the platform.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including IT, security, and operations, to ensure holistic and integrated solutions.
  • Establish best practices and standards for development, deployment, and maintenance of the platform.

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience in a solution architect role or similar.
  • Proven experience with AWS and its services.
  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools, such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, and AWS Code Pipeline
  • Proficiency with source code repositories, including GitLab, GitHub, or Bitbucket.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
  • Familiarity with databases, AI tools, and testing frameworks like Playwright.
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, and Qmetry.
  • Strong strategic planning and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

Additional Preferable Skills:

  • Certification in AWS Solutions Architect or similar.
  • Experience with microservices architecture.
  • Knowledge of DevSecOps practices.
  • Experience in leading agile teams and understanding agile methodologies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

The likely salary range for this position is $170,000 - $230,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
