Job description

Role Purpose:

As an Onboarding Specialist, you play a critical role in supporting successful exits for entrepreneurs using Flippa. You will focus on:

  1. Verifying seller information post check-out and
  2. Re-engaging high-value abandoned cart users. 

You are the client’s first human point of contact and are responsible for driving consistency, education, and trust throughout the onboarding process. 

You will report directly to the Onboarding Team Lead based in the USA.

Key responsibilities:

  • Conduct welcome outreach (call/email) within 1 business day of checkout.
  • Collect and verify:
    • Revenue & P&L Documentation (Stripe, Xero etc)
    • Primary expenses (COGS, Ad Spend, Logistics)
    • Partner with Marketplace Integrity to complete Owner identity and asset ownership (ID, LinkedIn, domain, WHOIS)
    • Website traffic
    • Content review to confirm asset type and accuracy of URI etc,.
  • Deliver Flippa SLA Deck and educate the client on the ‘exit experience’.
  • Schedule and host onboarding meetings
  • Send detailed broker handover email post-meeting.

Abandoned Cart Re-engagement:

  • Prioritize outreach by cart value and recency
  • Call and pitch Flippa’s value proposition within 1 business day
  • Share personalised content (case study + Flippa pitch deck)
  • Aim to convert to a scheduled onboarding meeting.

CRM & Reporting Compliance:

  • Log every activity in HubSpot (timestamps, methods, conversation notes)
  • Complete task checklist for each client (verification, education, handover).
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate client data in custom properties.

Attributes & Skills:

  • Experience in customer-facing roles, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality service and effectively managing objections.
  • Ability to critically analyse financial, operational, eCommerce platforms including Shopify and PayPal and traffic data to ensure accuracy and alignment with platform standards.
  • Demonstrated capability to manage competing priorities and multiple listings with accuracy and efficiency, meeting tight deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both external clients and internal stakeholders.
  • A proactive and solutions-focused mindset, with the ability to navigate challenges and drive positive outcomes.
  • Working knowledge of tools such as HubSpot, Slack, and Zoom.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with the flexibility to adapt to evolving priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, embrace feedback, and apply new knowledge in a high-growth or startup setting.
  • Self-motivated and driven, with a strong sense of initiative, ambition, and personal accountability.
