Role Overview

The Mailroom Associate executes shipping and receiving tasks within a fast-paced fashion company. The individual in this role will be responsible for processing domestic and international mail and packages, ensuring timely and cost-effective handling and distribution.

The Mailroom Associate reports to the Director of Facilities within the COO org structure. The position is based in our NYC office, on-site five days per week. The work hours are 9:00am – 6:00pm and may require earlier arrivals or later departures based on business needs.

 

Responsibilities

  • Process a high volume of inbound and outbound domestic and international mail and packages, including preparing customs documentation and complying with carrier requirements.
  • Sort, log, and distribute incoming mail and packages accurately to internal departments.
  • Prepare, process, and track outgoing shipments, ensuring proper packaging, labeling, and completion of shipping documentation.
  • Select cost-effective, reliable and efficient shipping methods for domestic and international packages and mail.
  • Operate mailroom equipment; troubleshoot minor issues and perform routine maintenance like clearing paper jams and refilling supplies.
  • Keep the mailroom and associated equipment clean and organized.
  • Assist employees with mail services, share options related to reliability, costs, and requirements.
  • Order mailroom supplies and consumables following budget guidelines.
  • Follow all company policies and guidelines.
  • Provide general office support from time to time as needed. For example: provide reception coverage, scan documents, move boxes, set-up/break down chairs.



Requirements


  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in mailroom, shipping/receiving, or corporate office support preferably within fashion/retail or similar fast-paced industries
  • Knowledge of domestic and international shipping carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, DHL) and familiarity with customs paperwork and international shipping processes
  • Flexible, solution-oriented and customer service minded
  • Able to communicate effectively with internal employees and external delivery professionals and vendors
  • Effective organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and remain calm when given deadlines
  • Basic operating knowledge of Microsoft Suite and Windows-based applications
  • Ability to bend, lift, and carry boxes or packages weighing up to 50 lbs.; able to stand for prolonged periods and perform physical tasks


This a on-site role, with 5 days in our NYC office 

 

PAY RATE: $25.00/hr-$29.00/hr
