Title: Senior Communications Specialist, Digital Asset Management

Employee Working Location: Partially Virtual / Hybrid (Canada)

Employment Status: Permanent Full-time

In this role, you will:

  • Administer and optimize the Canadian Red Cross instance of the Asset Bank digital asset management system, including vendor coordination, lifecycle workflows, updates, and training for users.
  • Develop and deliver training materials and sessions to support staff adoption and understanding of the Canadian Red Cross instance of the Asset Bank digital asset management system.
  • Participate in enterprise-level initiatives related to digital asset management, knowledge management, digitization, and related strategic projects that advance information stewardship and innovation.
  • Stay current with industry best practices, legal considerations, and technological advancements in communications and digital asset management to inform strategy and system use.
  • Ensure communications and digital asset use comply with legal, privacy, and rights-related requirements by identifying and managing risk and supporting the development of related policies and workflows.
  • Assist with metrics tracking, and evaluation of communication and digital asset performance, including analysis of engagement, compliance, and ROI.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Support crisis communication planning and response.
  • Create engaging and compelling content, both written and visual, while ensuring consistency with the organization's brand voice and messaging.

What we are looking for:

  • Completion of post-secondary education in information management or library and information science archival studies (Masters in Library and Information Science or Information Management) AND a minimum of 3 years of job-related work experience in digital asset management role.
  • Demonstrated success working with digital asset management solutions and workflows in a complex enterprise creative environment
  • Solid technical background and experience managing large, multi-phase technical projects.
  • Experience with and understanding of a variety of digital file formats, particularly media file types, and their metadata (EXIF, IPTC, XMP, etc.)
  • Developing and maintaining metadata schemas for large collections.
  • Proven success as a key member of a large, cross-functional team; able to work equally well with people in business, creative, and technical positions.
  • Experience training staff and/or volunteers on best practices and policies.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite products.
  • Knowledge of best practices for digital asset management, as well as implementing new asset management processes within large organizations
  • Fanatical about creating order from disorder; understands the “correct” level of process to apply to different projects
  • Able to apply sound judgment while working independently within tight timelines
  • Outstanding attention to detail and commitment to excellence
  • Excellent oral and written communicator, with great interpersonal skills; able to forge trusting relationships within a diverse team
  • Demonstrated commitment going above and beyond to help customers, system users, or patrons in solving problems or locating information
  • Must be comfortable reviewing and categorizing French content. Fluency in French an asset
