Job Summary: eMed is seeking a South Florida based Clinical Lead in Obesity Medicine (MD or DO) with an ABOM diplomate to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing our GLP-1 medication weight management program by working directly with provider networks, ensuring the highest standards of participant care through virtual diagnostics and telehealth services. This position requires a physician with extensive knowledge and experience in obesity medicine, excellent communication skills, and a passion for improving participant outcomes through innovative healthcare solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Chief Science Officer to develop and refine the GLP-1 medication weight management program and ensure the care pathway is evolving.
Ensure the highest clinical standards for the virtual consultations and follow-ups with participants to evaluate their eligibility for the GLP-1 program, manage side effects, and ensure medication adherence.
Ensure that the utilization of eMed’s at-home blood collection kits and telehealth services to screen and onboard qualified GLP-1 candidates meet established clinical standards.
Monitor that the expert guidance and support provided to participants via weekly check-ins and 24/7 telehealth services meets and exceeds clinical standards.
Monitor overall participant progress and coordinate adjustments as needed with provider network partners.
Work with a multidisciplinary team to ensure a seamless and integrated participant care experience.
Stay up-to-date with the latest research and developments in obesity medicine and GLP-1 medications.
advising functional teams in the Miami office on a daily basis
Oversight of and liaising with clinical and lab partners, including audits and chart reviews (note that eMed does not practice medicine in the USA, and all clinical work is undertaken by partners)
Supporting customer and/or investor meetings, advising on and reviewing content
Acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support and advise teams developing technical products and innovations
Contribute to the continuous improvement of eMed’s healthcare solutions through feedback and collaboration.
Qualifications:
MD or DO with a valid medical license.
Certified Obesity Medicine Physician with an ABOM diplomate.
Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills for provider, client, and team interactions.
Experience in a customer-facing role, ideally with health plans, employers, and/or government entities.
Strong understanding of GLP-1 medications and their application in weight management.
