Your purpose at Kertos
You are leading one of our product squads at Kertos, the European Champion for Compliance Automation. You shape our platform by driving our technical decision making, owning our development processes to push the boundaries of automation and innovation. You combine software engineering and team leadership, bringing our team and product to the next level. In close collaboration with our CTO, you will work on strategic initiatives, continuously improving the way we work and collaborate. 

What you’ll be doing here: 
  • Take the role of a lead developer, guiding the team in day-to-day technical decisions
  • Contribute to our codebase yourself, while supporting your team with reviews, guidance and support where needed
  • Contribute to product development by bringing in your ideas to automate workflows, improve suggestions and increase user satisfaction even further 
  • Take End-to-end ownership while developing technical concepts and owning them across the whole development lifecycle 
  • Optimize user value by closely living by customer feedback and usage data, maximizing our daily impact 
  • Lead and guide technical peers in your team in regular 1o1s, supporting their growth and setting them up for success 
  • Initiate and own strategic projects to improve developer experience, quality, speed of delivery and more as a key component of your work
The skills, motivation, and mentality you should bring
  • You have extensive professional experience in building scalable web applications 
  • You have led engineering teams in fast-growing startups or scaleups before and thrive in fostering personal growth 
  • You are used to flat hierarchies, because while this is a lead position, we drive our decisions as a team and minimize top-down decisions 
  • You are a strong communicator and have excellent collaboration abilities to effectively work in cross-functional, agile teams
  • Tech and its tools are moving insanely fast and so do we. You should be eager and curious about trying and pushing tools like Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, Copilot, Raycast and others. We fully support you (and expect you to) in creating a work environment that is ideal for you. 

Our tech stack is Django, React with Typescript and GraphQL. Experience here is a plus, but not required.
