Job Summary:

Geisinger's Neuroscience Institute is seeking a out-patient teleneurology neurologist to join our team.

Job Duties:

Are you an experienced neurologist looking for a new career opportunity without relocating?

Geisinger is seeking experienced neurologists to join our team to work remotely.

We are looking for physicians who want to become fully integrated into our practice and help us manage our increasing demand for new patient visits.

This is an out-patient position with no hospital coverage or nighttime call.

These are not short-term or locums positions.

You will be seeing out-patients either at home or in clinics (via a telecart), most patients will be new referrals.

The ideal candidate will make initial evaluation and plan next steps for patients. Some patients will need a diagnostic evaluation and one or two follow-up visits to resolve their condition. Others patients will need long-term follow-up or in-person care and will be handed off to other providers.

You will be assigned to one of our regions to get to know local referrers and neurologists. You will be treated exactly the same as if you were here in person, with orientation, attendance at staff meetings, participation in teaching and enjoying vacation time and CME activities to advance your career.

Clinic generally runs from 8am to 5pm EST, but we are usually able to accommodate physicians in other time zones by seeing patients at home after clinic hours.

Medical students from Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine rotate through the clinic, and Geisinger has 2 neurology residencies, so there are ample opportunities for teaching.

Faculty appointments and more formal roles in education are available for qualified candidates.

Your patients will be in your assigned service area and will have access to a full gambit of local in-person services for them, such as ophthalmology (for fundus exams), radiology, neurophysiology and neuropsychology.

Compensation and benefits package include:

  •  Competitive compensation
  •  Sign on bonus for medical school loan repayments or other expenses
  •  401(k) employer contributed retirement
  •  403(b) and 457(b) pre-tax retirement vehicles available
