Job description

A Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) Administrator provides expert-level support and day-to-day management of our enterprise SFMC environment. This includes multiple active Business Units, integrations with Sales Cloud and other Martech platforms.

The Administrator will be responsible for maintaining operational integrity, ensuring compliance with deployment methodology, managing user and data governance, and supporting ongoing enhancements and integration efforts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

SFMC Platform Administration

  • Maintain the configuration and structure of our multi-business unit SFMC instance
  • Manage Business Unit settings, hierarchy, user permissions, roles, and profile access
  • Monitor platform health and performance, and address issues as they arise
  • Ensure effective data management practices, including Contact and Subscriber management
  • Oversee usage of data extensions, data retention policies, and data model governance

Integration & Configuration

  • Manage and maintain integration between SFMC and Salesforce Sales Cloud (Estate Org)
  • Oversee and support integrations with external platforms (Customer Data Platform (CDP), Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), Medallia (VoC), Google BigQuery)
  • Configure and troubleshoot channel setups (Email Studio, Mobile Studio, CloudPages, etc.)
  • Coordinate with internal and third-party platform teams to ensure stable and secure data flows

Deployment and CI/CD Governance

  • Ensure compliance with our CI/CD (Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment) methodology
  • Manage movement of assets between environments using Deployment Manager or SFMC APIs
  • Maintain documentation of configuration changes and release logs
  • Support UAT coordination, testing processes, and migration planning

User Support & Enablement

  • Set up and deactivate users, assign appropriate roles and permissions
  • Provide technical assistance and platform training to marketers and content creators across BUs
  • Act as a platform SME to support onboarding, troubleshooting, and configuration requests

Data and Compliance Oversight

  • Ensure GDPR, CAN-SPAM, and internal data governance policies are adhered to across all communications
  • Implement and maintain appropriate data sharing rules and contact model alignment across Business Units
  • Assist with data audits, access reviews, and compliance documentation as required

Reporting & Platform Optimization

  • Provide platform usage insights, license monitoring, and campaign performance data to relevant stakeholders
  • Identify and recommend improvements to platform structure, workflows, and automation processes

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3-5 years of experience administering Salesforce Marketing Cloud in a complex, multi-BU environment
  • Strong understanding of SFMC modules including Email Studio, Journey Builder, Automation Studio, and Mobile Studio
  • Experience integrating SFMC with Salesforce CRM, CDPs, CMSs, analytics tools, and data lakes
  • Familiarity with CI/CD processes, release management, and documentation standards
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization
