Primary Duties & Accountabilities:

  • Tax return management and review for high-net-worth individual clients, and future business return clients.

  • Review tax projections and evaluate client individual returns, business returns when applicable, financials information, and circumstances to identify planning opportunities.

  • Active collaboration with team members and elite wealth management advisors to build financial plans with an emphasis on estate, business succession or exit strategies, and income tax optimization.

  • Analyze clients’ tax and financial statuses to build strategies and drive client decision making.

  • Examine and position tax and financial solutions with focus on Northwestern Mutual’s approach of integrating investments and life insurance, where applicable.

  • Present to advisors and clients, often in a lead role, to enable client decision making.

  • Build and leverage relationships with other areas of the company to address unique client circumstances in the high-net-worth marketplace and ensure seamless delivery of tax returns and integration of tax strategies and tax implications into financial plans. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or tax emphasis required.

  • CPA license required.  Other specialty knowledge, advanced degree, certification, or designation preferred, but not required.

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience with high-net-worth individual and business tax planning and tax return compliance. 

  • Broad understanding of estate and business planning strategies, financial planning, investment and insurance products.

  • Demonstrated strength consulting with high-net-worth clients ($20M+) and financial advisors.

  • Client centric written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience developing and executing strategy in dynamic environment.

  • Experience with CCH Axcess Tax software.

  • Excellent manager skills to grow and develop CPAs, effectively use resources or deep technical expertise.

  • Tax research experience required.

  • Team player, with the ability to work with others frequently.

    Compensation Range:

    Pay Range - Start:

    $135,800.00

    Pay Range - End:

    $252,200.00

    Geographic Specific Pay Structure:

    225 - Structure 110: 149,380.00 USD - 277,420.00 USD
    225 - Structure 115: 156,170.00 USD - 290,030.00 USD
