Job description

Directs specific components of the revenue cycle for assigned departments and functions.  Accountable for the overall success and operations of professional fee coding, charge capture/entry, charge reconciliation, coding related claim edits and denials, provider feedback and education, and coder feedback and education.  Accountable for technical and service quality, and operational/fiscal management.  Responsible for achieving annual and periodic goals for significant statistical indicators of revenue cycle performance.  Participates, establishes, and assists with implementation of best practice policies and procedures across all billing groups to improve performance by active participation in applicable committees.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
* Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
* At least ten years of coding experience
* Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite. (Excel, Word, Power Point)
* Strong computer skills
* Strong interpersonal communication skills
* Strong knowledge of CMS rules and regulations
* CPC or CCS-P certification required

The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of University of Maryland’s Faculty Physician’s Inc. salary range for this position. Some candidates will not be eligible for the upper end of the salary range.
