Cobol Developer (AS/400)

ITTConnect is seeking a Cobol Developer (AS/400) to work remotely for one of our clients in the USA. This is a contract position ("PJ") with a company that is a global leader in consulting, digital transformation, technology and engineering services present in nearly 50 countries.

Job location: Remote, work from anywhere in Brazil

Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and enhance applications written in COBOL on IBM iSeries (AS/400).
  
• Work with RPGLE, CLLE, SQLRPGLE, and DB2/400 to support business-critical applications.
  
• Design and maintain display files (DSPF) and reporting files (PRTF) for user interfaces and printed output.
  
• Debug and resolve issues in batch and interactive programs.
  
• Participate in the design and implementation of system integrations with third-party or internal applications.
  
• Understand and support accounting-related processes where applicable.
  
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  
• Ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
  
• Create and maintain technical documentation
  

Requirements

• Proficiency in COBOL development on IBM i / AS/400 and DB2/400 and SQL.
  
• Strong hands-on experience in RPGLE, CLLE, and SQLRPGLE.
  
• Experience in creating and maintaining display files (DSPF) and printer files (PRTF).
  
• Understanding of job control, batch job processing, and CL programming.
  

Preferred:

• Experience or domain knowledge in the automotive or rental industry.
  
• Understanding of integration systems and data flow between platforms.
  
• Exposure to accounting systems/processes is a plus.
  
• Familiarity with modern integration (e.g., APIs, middleware) is advantageous.
  
• Knowledge of SDLC, Agile, or other structured development methodologies.
