Job description

Role
We are looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer who is passionate about delivering high-quality software and driving testing excellence. In this role, you'll be a key member of our product team, working alongside developers, designers, and product owners to ensure our travel platform is robust, reliable, and user-focused from day one.

You will take ownership of building and evolving our QA processes and test strategies, with a strong focus on automation, early involvement in development cycles, and continuous delivery. If you're someone who thrives in cross-functional teams and believes quality is everyone's responsibility - you'll feel right at home with us.

Your mission
  • Own quality from start to finish by designing, implementing, and executing test strategies that ensure software reliability and performance.

  • Champion automation by maintaining and expanding automated and manual test cases across functional, regression, and performance testing.

  • Embed quality early by working closely with developers from the start of the development cycle to detect, analyze, and resolve issues early on.

  • Improve CI/CD pipelines to seamlessly integrate automated tests into our development and deployment workflows.

  • Think like a user by collaborating with Product Owners, Developers, and UX/UI Designers to ensure our software meets both business goals and user needs.

  • Track what matters by monitoring software quality metrics and driving continuous improvement across the development lifecycle.

Your profile
  • A degree in IT, software engineering, or a related field—or equivalent professional experience.

  • Solid hands-on experience with test automation frameworks and best practices.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an eye for detail and the ability to document test plans and results clearly.

  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and experience working in cross-functional teams.

  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset, with the ability to share knowledge across teams—in English, and ideally also in German.

Why us?

  • Stay flexible: Dynamic working hours model for more freedom in your daily life.
  • Time off & more: 30 days of vacation, 50 workation days and 2 social days for your passion project.
  • The journaway base: Furnished apartment in Leer (East Frisia) – ideal for your start or office visits.
  • Remote – with team spirit: Modern home office equipment and real connection at our office in Leer.
  • Team spirit live: At journaway summer vibes, after works, movie nights and many other events.
