Job overview:

The Vice President (VP), HR Business Management & Transformation, plays a critical role in driving strategic HR initiatives, business planning, operational effectiveness, and transformation programs across the Human Resources function. The VP acts as a key partner to the HR Director, ensuring alignment of HR strategies with organizational goals, while enhancing efficiency, governance, and innovation.  This role is central to driving process optimization, HR transformation, and control adherence within a dynamic and technology-driven financial services environment.

What you will be doing:

This is a varied role, where priorities are likely to evolve each week across the BAU and change agenda, the ability to flex between both, is essential within this role.

HR Business Management

  • Partner with the HR, Director on the creation, administration, planning and performance tracking of the HR Strategy, KPI’s & annual priorities.
  • Work with the HR Leadership team, annually, to track, coordinate and support progress and deliverables within the HR Strategy, ensuring delivery of actions.
  • Co-ordinate & project manage cross-functional HR projects, ensuring timely delivery, e.g. overseeing the tracking of the end of year performance & pay-review process.
  • Support with the HR annual budget planning processes, in addition to the ongoing oversight and management of actual spend, in collaboration with Finance BP.
  • Collaborate with HR Governance and Business, Risk & Control on HR governance oversight and reporting matters, including known CAPs, Issues & Actions.
  • Work in alliance with the HR Analytics team, to ensure all strategic management reporting is adhered to in a timely manner.
  • Develop and administer dashboards and KPIs to monitor the performance of HR initiatives.
  • Support with the creation of quarterly business reviews for EMC head of Division.
  • Partner with the Director, Employee Engagement for relevant HR communications and engagement deliverables, relevant to HR Bus Man or HR Transformation.
  • Manage vendor relationships and contracts for HR-related services and platforms, which impact your role, performing the Service Owner (SO), responsibilities.
  • Partner with the HR EA to plan the monthly HR Team meeting agenda’s, ensuring a mix of team collaboration, governance oversight and business delivery / insights.
  • Support with the planning of the fortnightly HR Leadership Meeting, where required.
  • Support with any analysis, documentation & co-ordination required to meet deliverables for quarterly Board meetings and monthly EMC and/or OpCo meetings.
  • Evolve the HR annual BAU calendar, to provide insight into holistic deliverables impacting HR capacity and employee experience.
  • Support the with ad-hoc deliverables that arise, ranging from administrative tasks to strategic business challenges, solving complex issues or managing relationships.
  • Keep abreast of external trends and HR thought leadership, contributing additional ideas and knowledge into the team.
  • In support to the HRLT, provide ideas and co-ordination for the broader HR team, to continue to develop trust, engagement, skillset, and fostering wellbeing.

HR Transformation

  • Support the design and execution of the HR transformation program, focused on digitalization, process optimization, and service delivery model enhancements.
  • Creation of HR project and program governance documentation, in partnership with broader project team.
  • Partner with external vendors and internal CLS departments to plan, co-ordinate, test and implement HR Transformation deliverables.
  • Partner with HR Centres of Excellence (COEs) and HR Technology teams to identify opportunities for automation, efficiency, and improved user experience.
  • In collaboration with relevant SME’s, facilitate change management, including stakeholder engagement, communication strategies, and training initiatives.
  • Support the HR Program Manager and HR, Director with oversight and creation of monthly HR Transformation deliverables, including admin related tasks.
  • Collaborate with HR Director and HR Program Manager to ensure all deliverables related to the Program governance and steering committee are managed on time.
  • Provide support to the Director, HR Tech Transformation & the broader working groups as established from the identified HR Transformation projects.
  • Deliverables related to HR Transformation will continue to evolve as the HR Transformation Program is established over the months to come, ability to flex between this ambiguity and delivery required for a variety of tasks, is essential.

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience in HR strategy or HR transformation, business strategy or change, preferably in Financial Services organization.
  • Proven experience managing HR projects or transformation projects.
  • An understanding of HR technology platforms (e.g., Workday, Oracle HCM), process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma), and change management.
  • Financial acumen and ability to manage budgets and reporting.
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present complex information to senior leaders.
  • A thorough attention to detail, ensuring work is accurate and reflects relevant information.
  • A ‘can do’, creative attitude, with the desire to roll up their sleeves and get involved with any tasks that are required to get the job done well.
  • Experience in managing deliverables cross-functional teams or leading through influence.
  • An ability to scan the environment for opportunities to collaborate and drive efficiencies, consistently look ahead to anticipate needs before they arise.
  • Highly proficient IT skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Professional qualifications / certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Business Management, or related field of expertise.
  • Project Management certification is preferred.
