Job Title: Senior Social Worker - Safeguarding and Support
Location: Tameside, Greater Manchester
Pay Rate: £39.00 per hour

Job Description: 

Liquid Personnel is recruiting a dedicated and experienced Senior Social Worker to join its client’s Safeguarding and Support Team based in Tameside, Greater Manchester. This team is responsible for managing Child in NeedChild ProtectionPre-Proceedings, and Court Matters, offering a dynamic and rewarding environment for skilled professionals.

The role is primarily office-based, with some flexibility for remote working, subject to agreement with the Team Manager. The preferred working pattern is across five days per week.

What will your responsibilities be?

  • Carry out assessments of children in need, including those in need of protection and cared-for children
  • Coordinate service provision to meet assessed needs
  • Conduct reviews and statutory visits in line with service procedures
  • Undertake direct work with children and families
  • Promote and respect children’s identity needs, including cultural, religious, and linguistic backgrounds
  • Build meaningful relationships with children, parents, and carers to encourage full participation
  • Support the development of parents and carers to achieve best outcomes
  • Collaborate with colleagues and partner agencies
  • Prepare and present written and oral reports to Panels, Courts, and other agencies
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records
  • Attend regular supervision and actively participate in reflective practice
  • Engage in training and Continuing Professional Development
  • Adhere to statutory regulations and Council policies
  • Contribute to service evaluation and policy development

Qualifications & Experience:

To be successful in this role you must have, 

  • Social Work England registration
  • Degree in Social Work or equivalent
  • Post-qualified experience in statutory children’s services
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Ability to provide 5 years of references and account for any employment gaps
