Position Summary:

The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for managing and reconciling accounts receivable (AR), ensuring timely payment processing, and supporting customer account inquiries. This role involves handling all accounts receivable functions, such as cash applications, contacting customers with outstanding balances, managing billing inquiries, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to resolve account discrepancies.

General Responsibilities:

  • Follow up on aged balances, communicating with customers to resolve billing discrepancies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve invoice disputes and drive solutions
  • Maintain confidentiality with sensitive financial information
  • Support internal and external audits as needed
  • Perform timely and accurate account reconciliations
  • Report on AR issues to management and suggest potential solutions
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Take on additional responsibilities as assigned
Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in accounting or like field, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience required
  • 2-3 years of experience in accounts receivable required 
  • Experience with Salesforce and NetSuite is preferred 
  • High level of proficiency in MS Excel (daily use)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong understanding of AR functions and related accounting transactions
  • Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced, team environment
  • Effective communicator with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Solid organizational, time management, and analytical skills
  • Familiarity with technology, including Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer skills
  • Ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Insurance and/or construction industry experience preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills 
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Hybrid role; onsite 2-3 days a week
  • Reliable high speed home broadband internet connection with minimum 10 meg download and 1 meg upload speeds and ability to connect to home internet via ethernet cord is required if working remotely
