 IT Project Manager 


Overview

This is a strategic position for our team surrounding DLA projects and is contingent upon award.  

Responsibilities

  • Provide project management support for IT benchmarking initiatives, including identifying critical tasks, managing project timelines, leading meetings, and tracking action items.
  • Prepare high-quality executive presentations and briefings for senior J6 leadership.
  • Conduct IT benchmarking pre-assessment visit activities, including:
    • Participating in customer interviews
    • Analyzing pre-assessment questionnaire responses
    • Developing follow-up questions for benchmarking interviews
  • Support on-site assessment visits by:
    • Capturing notes, observations, and participant feedback during SME interviews
    • Developing detailed out-briefs for presentation to senior officials
  • Collect, analyze, and synthesize findings into comprehensive final reports, including:
    • Key observations
    • Actionable recommendations
    • Alternative best practices for IT service delivery
  • Track and manage follow-up actions related to IT service improvement opportunities and benchmarking outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, templates, checklists, and policies to support the IT benchmarking program's process library.
  • All other duties assigned. 
Qualifications
Demonstrated Knowledge and experience in: 
  • Knowledge and experience in managing IT services, strategies, and performance improvement initiatives. 
  • Technical expertise in IT benchmarking practices and best practice analysis
  • IT project management experience using various Microsoft tools. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, and SharePoint
  • Must demonstrate a respectful demeanor.   
  • Experience with presenting material to senior-level officials
Preferred Qualifications
  • DoD contract experience. 
  • Military trained.  

Clearance:

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance or higher. 

Education & Experience: 

  • BS/BA or higher degree in Engineering, Finance or Business.  
  • Two (2) years of practical industry, government and/or consulting experience in information technology management.
  • Five (5) years of experience in contingency contracting and/or experience in managing/using contingency tools.
  • In lieu of a degree, 4 or more years of relevant experience may suffice. 

Location: 

  • Remote but must be able to meet on Ft. Belvoir as needed. 
  • Monday-Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.  Schedule flexing is available with the PM’s approval.  

Physical Requirements:

  • Sedentary work.  Ability to sit for extended periods (e.g., at a desk or computer)
  •  Manual dexterity; typing, using a mouse, handling documents or digital tools. 
  • Close vision; working on screens, reading documents, charts, schedules. 
  • Standard hearing. 
  • Clear Communications; presenting, leading meetings, coordinating with stakeholders. 
  • Light lifting: occasionally lifting items under 10-15 bld. (e.g., laptop, notebooks.)  

Travel: 

  • Periodic travel to the customer site at Ft. Belvoir, VA.
