Job Purpose

This role is responsible for patching and maintaining of security vulnerabilities and configuration compliance of the global CLS Windows Server, VDI and Laptop estate. The role will work closely with the Windows Infrastructure, Windows Engineering and IT Security teams to remediate security vulnerabilities through the environments.

The successful candidate will have a solid background working with Microsoft Server platforms and Client Operating systems, with a specific focus on vulnerability and configuration management. This is a hands-on role that involves constant collaboration across departments.

 

Essential Function / major duties and responsibilities of the job

Strategic

  • Ensure CLS systems are managed to the highest standard by following industry best practices.
  • Demonstrate good problem management ownership and prevention of SLA breach under Incident/Problem Management processes.
  • Actively contribute to the development of existing and new IT process and procedures to enhance service transition and service operation lifecycle stages.
  • Demonstrate self-starter capabilities identifying areas of improvement and acting to address.

 

Operational

  • Responsible for the security and configuration compliance of the Microsoft Windows Server and Client Endpoints.
  • Maintain, develop, and improve the vulnerability management service. Develop solutions and automated methods to reduce manual and repetitive tasks.
  • Work closely with key stakeholder groups including IT Security to ensure appropriate levels of engagement and focus are maintained.
  • Plan and implement technical changes without unexpected disruption to the service and with minimal oversight.
  • Create, maintain, and review operational process and support documentation.
  • Plan, support and participate in scheduled patching events.
  • Weekend work where required to deliver the required service goals.

 

Experience / essential and desired for successful job performance

Essential

  • Has experience of managing solutions, technologies and processes associated with vulnerability and configuration compliance in a Microsoft Windows Server (2012, 2016, 2019, 2022), Windows 10 and Windows 11.
  • Has experience of supporting and troubleshooting production systems in an enterprise Microsoft Windows environment.
  • Has experience of delivering service improvement across technology products and operational processes.
  • Has experience of working with ITSM systems such as ServiceNow and understands priorities and SLA’
  • Has ability to collaborate effectively with other operational support teams to support the service.
  • Has strong documentation and technical writing skills.
  • Has excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Has knowledge of the ITIL framework (understanding of Incident, Problem, Change etc.).

 

Desired

  • Has experience working in financial services sector.
  • Has advanced experience of SCCM, Intune, Qualys and AWS.
  • Has experience of Ivanti Risk Sense.

 

Qualifications / certifications

Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Prior IT operational support experience across business-critical production infrastructure.

 

Desired

  • Windows related certification.
  • ITIL certification.
