SUMMARY
Terra-Gen is a leading and growing developer, owner, and operator of utility-scale renewable energy projects—including battery energy storage systems (BESS), wind farms, solar PV facilities, and high-voltage transmission infrastructure. We are committed to delivering reliable and sustainable energy solutions across the U.S.
We are seeking a Safety Coordinator to provide field safety presence, support Terra-Gen Operation site teams and execute health and safety policies and procedures. This position plays a key role in developing, maintaining, implementing, executing, and improving construction safety programs and works closely with Terra-Gen’s Operations and EHS teams to help ensure the safety of employees, contractors, and visitors on operations sites.
This individual must be comfortable and enjoy the outdoors to fulfil the duties of regular internal facility inspections and supporting the Operations teams, while ensuring duties back in the office are completed on time and documented.
The ideal candidate has prior experience in a health and safety function, is dependable, organized, self-motivated, and possesses strong written and verbal communication skills. The successful candidate will have great field presence. This role requires a balance of outdoor field work in varying weather conditions and administrative responsibilities (for example, inspection close-outs, preparing thorough training documentation, and Emergency Action Plan reviews and updates). The candidate must be capable of building strong, reliable relationships with operations and familiar with incident reporting and able to perform injury investigations (TapRooT).
This individual will provide ongoing input and support for company-wide Health and Safety programs. They understand federal, state OHSA regulations and able to provide straightforward, easy-to-understand guidance as it applies to the safety practices at the assigned sites.
This role is a full-time hybrid position supporting the company’s PV/BESS and wind operations. The role combines remote work (from home) with weekly on-site presence at the field office in Palm Springs and requires routine travel to the facilities in San Diego, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties. This role also requires out-of-state travel to support facility and/or office operations in other states, such as Texas, and, in the future, New York.
