About the Role:

We’re seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to support our three manufacturing facilities in Southeast Pennsylvania. Ideally based in the York/Lancaster area, this remote-based role will lead capital and technical initiatives to improve plant reliability, capacity, safety, and efficiency.

You’ll be responsible for developing and executing site master plans, managing capital budgets, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope. This role partners closely with internal teams and external vendors to drive continuous improvement while maintaining high standards for food safety, employee safety, and sustainability.

You’ll add value to this role by performing various functions including, but not limited to:

  • Responsible for multiple facilities with in-depth understanding of food manufacturing operations.
  • Develop and execute 2–3-year capital master plans aligned with business priorities.
  • Lead development of project scopes, screening estimates, business cases, and approvals.
  • Manage all aspects of capital project execution: design, procurement, scheduling, construction, commissioning, validation, and closeout.
  • Manage and influence cross-functional stakeholders and contractors; resolve issues and drive alignment.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, environmental, health, and safety standards.
  • Provide technical troubleshooting, including root cause analysis and countermeasure implementation.
  • Support site Progressive Maintenance (PM), Breakdown Elimination (BDE), and Autonomous Maintenance (AM) initiatives.
  • Contribute to long-term cost savings and efficiency through sustainability and continuous improvement projects.
  • Serve as the technical subject matter expert for sanitary design and process technology.
  • Develop team capability by providing feedback, mentoring, and leadership to indirect reports and contractors.
  • Interface with OEMs, contractors, government agencies, and co-manufacturers

Important Details:

  • This is a full-time, remote role on first shift. Occasional flexibility is required to support alternate shifts.
  • While the primary focus is on Southeast PA, occasional air travel may be required to support project demands at other locations

You’ll fit right in if you have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required.
  • 3–5 years of capital project management experience, preferably within the food manufacturing industry.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent capital projects totaling approximately $6M/year.
  • Track record of driving measurable improvements in KPIs such as cost reduction, equipment uptime, and material loss.
  • Knowledge of sanitary equipment design and technology used in food processing.
  • Prior experience in operations, maintenance, and/or engineering in a plant environment preferred.
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder influence, and cross-functional communication skills.
  • Formal training or certification in Project Management is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with SAP and capital project systems preferred.
