Responsibilities
Provide support & supervision to care & nursing staff in all aspects including orientation of new staff, training and development of care staff, organising and coordinating their
Receive, supervise and oversee the reception of new residents
Lead and implement change, with particular reference to HIQA standards
Display leadership, innovation and creativity through the work with staff and residents
Play an active part in daily resident hand-over, ensuring excellent communication between all staff caring for residents is maintained. Coordinate the shift, ensuring suitable delegation of tasks for nursing and care staff is allocated
Assess, plan, implement and evaluate the care needed to address the resident’s physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs in accordance with the resident themselves
Play a central role in maintaining a safe environment for residents, staff and visitors
Requirements
A minimum of three years' experience (within the last six years) in a senior nursing management role in elder care.
Qualification for post-registration management
Presently enrolled with the NMBI
Demonstrated clinical, leadership, and interpersonal capabilities
Thorough familiarity with the "HEALTH ACT 2007" and HIQA requirements and regulations
Outstanding organisational, leadership, and communication abilities
Gerontology training is preferred.
