Job description

Pan-American Life Insurance Group (PALIG) is seeking a Senior Reconciliation Application Analyst who will support the Corporate Finance department primarily by assisting in the planning and implementation of reconciliation processes in the Account Reconciliation software, Cadency.  This will include assisting in the design and development of solutions in Cadency, ensuring they meet business needs and align with overall Finance objectives.

This position will work closely with the Director of Account Control and collaborate with multiple Finance departments. This position will also assist in updates to the Cadency software that are required as the Corporate Finance Team implements a new ERP software. This position will partner with several departments, and eventually other countries, to achieve the overall objectives of Corporate Finance; this position is a dynamic opportunity with room for growth.

This is a potential remote opportunity but there is preference for candidates to be located near one of our office locations for a hybrid work arrangement: New Orleans, LA., Richardson, TX., Oak Brook, IL., or Coral Gables, FL.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - Cadency Application Support:

Analysis & Design:

  • Analyze business needs and develop solutions for new implementation in Cadency
  • Assist in creating/automating sources and designing imports
  • Build and maintain databases, workflows, processes and templates
  • Translate business requirements into technical specification

Process Improvement:

  • Collaborate with finance teams to evaluate and understand current processes
  • Gather requirements and define new solutions to ensure successful implementation
  • Assist with design, change management, testing and validating new processes required for ERP upgrade
  • Document processes, change management, issues and resolutions to ensure ongoing performance and scalability
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve efficiency and enhance use of Cadency

Project Management:

  • Collaborate with departments to plan and prioritize Cadency implementation
  • Assist Project Management teams with managing timelines, tasks and updates

New Features & Upgrades:

  • Stay informed on the latest advancements and features in Cadency, incorporating them
  • where appropriate
  • Assist with changes and documentation related to software upgrades and new features
  • Work with software providers and developing relationships to enhance Cadency usage

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting, finance, information systems and technology; an additional 4 years’ relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • 2 plus years working in Cadency or other reconciliation software
  • CPA preferred
  • Knowledge of Cadency (or other reconciliation software) or a Cadency Certification is a plus
  • Strong technical skills, ability to grasp new softwares quickly
  • Strong understanding of financial principles and accounting practices
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite, particularly Excel, Access, Power BI

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Problem-solving and analytical skills, ability to identify creative solutions and resolve complex technical challenges
  • Curiosity about softwares and processes, desire to learn and develop new ideas and skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Bi-lingual Spanish/English skills are preferred
  • Knowledge of Workday Finance software is a plus
