It is a very exciting time of growth for our Biz,Apps team and we are currently hiring a Senior Technical Architect - D365 FinOps 

This role can be located anywhere in the United States.

What will this role entail?

We are looking for a Senior Technical Architect – D365 FinOps to lead the design, development, and delivery of high-quality solutions across complex D365 Finance & Operations engagements. The Architect will serve as a senior member of the project delivery team, responsible for technical oversight, solution governance, performance tuning, and development lifecycle management.

The ideal candidate will be deeply experienced in the Microsoft Dynamics platform and adjacent technologies (Power Platform, Azure Integration Services, DevOps), with a proven ability to lead global development teams, guide architecture decisions, and collaborate cross-functionally with business and functional leads. This role is instrumental in ensuring the scalability, performance, and sustainability of our FinOps solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Architecture & Governance

  • Define and own technical architecture for D365 FinOps implementations including extensions, integrations, and data migration strategies.
  • Lead technical design sessions and produce high-quality design documentation aligned with Microsoft’s best practices.
  • Provide architectural guidance across modules (Finance, SCM, Project Ops, etc.), ensuring maintainability, performance, and scalability.
  • Oversee ALM processes, including branching, build/release pipelines (Azure DevOps), and environment management.

Development Oversight & Execution

  • Manage full software development lifecycle including code reviews, quality assurance, deployment, and production support.
  • Develop and enforce technical standards and reusable frameworks to accelerate delivery.
  • Provide oversight and mentorship to both onshore and offshore developers, ensuring code quality and adherence to design.
  • Conduct performance tuning, debugging, and root cause analysis for technical issues.

Project Leadership & Delivery

  • Collaborate with functional leads, solution architects, and project managers to ensure technical feasibility and alignment to client requirements.
  • Estimate technical effort, plan resource allocation, and contribute to delivery strategy.
  • Proactively manage risk and identify technical blockers early in the project lifecycle.
  • Contribute to go-live planning and post-implementation support.
  • Customer Engagement & Advisory
  • Serve as a technical thought partner to customers and internal teams, advising on Microsoft ecosystem capabilities and roadmap alignment.
  • Participate in solution envisioning, proof-of-concept development, and pre-sales efforts as needed.
  • Support proposal creation with effort estimation, technical write-ups, and delivery model design.

Internal Enablement & Best Practices

  • Drive internal knowledge-sharing and mentor junior technical team members.
  • Participate in architect forums and the Center of Excellence to define and refine best practices, accelerators, and reference architectures.
  • Continuously invest in upskilling on emerging Microsoft technologies and industry trends.

Soft Skills & Leadership

  • Strong communication skills with ability to engage business and technical stakeholders.
  • Natural leadership presence with ability to mentor, lead technical reviews, and represent the practice in strategic conversations.
  • High sense of ownership, accountability, and initiative.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or related field.
  • 7+ years of hands-on development and architecture experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 FinOps.
  • Deep understanding of X++, C#, and .NET-based customizations in D365FO.
  • Experience managing distributed development teams and large-scale technical delivery (1,000+ hrs).
  • Proven expertise in ALM using Azure DevOps including branching strategy, CI/CD, automated builds and deployments.
  • 3+ end-to-end D365FO implementations across Finance, Supply Chain, or Projects.
  • Hands-on experience with Power Platform, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, and integrations using OData/Dataverse/Databricks is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft ecosystem licensing, DevOps principles, and environment governance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Finance + Azure Architect certifications preferred.
  • Experience working within the Microsoft Partner ecosystem.
  • Familiarity with ISV integrations (e.g., Vertex, ExFlow, SK Global).
  • Experience in verticals such as manufacturing, distribution, or professional services.
  • Exposure to agile delivery frameworks (Scrum, SAFe).
