Job description

Role Overview  

The Solution Architect serves as a critical bridge between business stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams at CAA - ensuring solutions are well-defined, scalable, compliant, and aligned with enterprise standards. Your work will enable rapid, high-quality development of some of our most important business solutions. 

Key Responsibilities  

  • Technical Roadmap Development: Collaborate with senior management to design and develop a technology strategy that aligns with the organization's objectives.
  • Architecture Design: Develop and oversee the construction of high-quality architecture and design for IT solutions/systems.
  • Non-Functional Requirements Ownership: Define and drive implementation of technical requirements (resilience, performance, security, etc.) for key IT initiatives in conjunction with product development teams.
  • Solution Evaluation: Identify and evaluate existing and proposed technologies, processes, and systems to ensure they meet business needs and align with CAA’s technology strategy/roadmaps. This includes building working prototypes and other hands-on evaluation methods to ensure feasibility.
  • Technology Integration: Govern the integration of new technologies into existing systems and platforms, ensuring compatibility, performance, and security.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with various stakeholders—including senior leadership, product managers, business analysts, and development teams—to ensure seamless alignment between business goals and technological implementations.
  • Optimization and Innovation: Continuously seek to optimize and improve the IT environment through innovative solutions and methodologies.
  • Mentorship and Guidance: Provide mentorship, training, and guidance to IT staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the technology team.

Skills & Competencies  

  • Proficiency and hands-on experience in a wide range of enterprise technologies, including ERP, CRM, application development frameworks, cloud computing platforms, infrastructure/networking, databases, integration solutions, and cybersecurity.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess complex business problems, translating them into effective technical solutions.
  • Ability to develop and execute long-term technology strategies that align with business objectives, ensuring flexibility and scalability.
  • Adept at managing multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously, while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities to clearly convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and facilitate collaboration across departments.
  • A proactive approach to identifying issues and developing innovative solutions, with a strong emphasis on risk mitigation and operational efficiency.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and guiding technical staff to achieve project and organizational goals.
  • Experience working in a highly matrixed, global environment is a plus.

Qualifications  

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, engineering, management or IT related field or equivalent experience required.
  • 12+ years of experience, with at least 8 years of experience in building/architecting/supporting enterprise-grade technology solutions across the software development lifecycle.
  • 4+ years of experience building technology roadmaps, delivering high-quality architecture/design artifacts and conducting technology selection/prototyping activities in an enterprise context.
  • Strong hands-on and progressive experience across more than one technical disciplines: custom development, packaged software implementations, databases, infrastructure, technical integration tools, etc.
  • Demonstrated hands-on expertise with Azure Data services ecosystem including Data Factory, Data Warehouse, Data Lake, MS Fabric, SQL DB, Cosmos DB, Key Vault, Logic Apps, etc. (Azure experience is strongly preferred. Equivalent AWS or GCP experience will also be considered.)
  • Strong experience with various industry platforms: Sales and CRM ecosystems such as Salesforce, ERP systems such as SAP/JDE/PeopleSoft, Cloud platforms such as MS Azure/AWS/GCP
  • Deep knowledge of Agile/DevOps principles and tools.
  • Project and/or people leadership experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience building AI/ML solutions is a strong plus.
  • Platform certifications are a strong plus: Salesforce.com, Workday, Cloud (Azure, AWS or GCP)

  • Location: Initially Fully Remote with potential for in-person
  • Reports To: Director of IT Enterprise Systems & Architecture
