The Team: The S&P Global Commodity Insights division is looking to fill a role within its Specialty Chemicals department by hiring a Senior Principal Analyst for the Specialties - Polymers and Elastomers Group. Our team is dedicated to delivering high-quality market research and insights, focusing on the dynamic landscape of specialty polymers and elastomers. The Impact: As a Senior Principal Analyst in the Specialties Polymers and Elastomers Group, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of the specialty chemicals industry across EMEA. Your expertise will drive the creation of insightful market research that influences key stakeholders and decision-makers. By delivering accurate and timely analysis, you will enhance the value of our Chemical Economics Handbook and Specialty Chemicals Update Program, ensuring our clients have the critical information needed to navigate complex market landscapes. Your contributions will help strengthen S&P Global's reputation as a leader in commodity insights and foster growth within the specialty chemicals sector.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive market research and analysis within the specialty chemicals sector, focusing on polymers and elastomers in Western Europe, Central and Eastern Europe, Eurasia, the Middle East, and Africa.
  • Develop and update market research reports for the Chemical Economics Handbook (CEH) and Specialty Chemicals Update Program (SCUP).
  • Collaborate with internal departments, including Consulting, Sales, and Commercial teams, to ensure alignment with business objectives and client needs.
  • Respond to client and stakeholder inquiries, providing expert guidance and insights into market trends and developments.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and ambassador for the specialty chemicals industry across EMEA, representing the division at industry events and conferences.
  • Identify growth opportunities and strategic initiatives to enhance the division's market presence and influence.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in market research or analysis within the specialty chemicals industry.
  • Proven expertise in polymers and elastomers, with a strong understanding of market dynamics in EMEA.
  • Excellent analytical skills and proficiency in data interpretation and report writing.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively liaise with clients and internal teams.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Chemistry or a related discipline.
  • Experience working with the Chemical Economics Handbook (CEH) and Specialty Chemicals Update Program (SCUP).
  • Familiarity with consulting and sales processes within the specialty chemicals sector.
  • Ability to represent the company at industry events and conferences, showcasing thought leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional, global environment.
