Position Overview:

As the Esthetician Lead, you will champion exceptional skincare services and guide our team of talented estheticians. You'll blend your expertise in providing top-tier facial and body treatments with leadership responsibilities, ensuring our guests receive unparalleled experiences. Your role will involve maintaining the highest standards of service, cleanliness, and professionalism within the esthetics department, all while fostering a positive and high-performing team environment. In addition to your esthetician duties, you will play a key role in the operational success of the department through administrative support and team leadership. (Shown wage represents potential hourly rate plus treatment rate. Expect additional compensation through generous tips!)

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Uphold and monitor adherence to all state-mandated licensing requirements for estheticians.
  • Maintain impeccable safety and sanitation standards within all treatment areas.
  • Contribute to the recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance evaluation of esthetics team members. 
  • Inspire, coach, and mentor estheticians to achieve their full potential and deliver exceptional guest experiences.
  • Manage and optimize supply inventories, including efficient ordering, requisitioning, and maintaining cost-effective par levels without compromising the guest experience.
  • Ensure consistently high levels of guest satisfaction by upholding the Resort's and the State of Minnesota's stringent cleaning protocols.
  • Maintain clear and proactive communication with the Assistant Spa Director and Spa Director regarding any necessary repairs, maintenance, or facility needs within the esthetics areas.
  • Disseminate important spa information effectively to the entire esthetics team.
  • Actively participate in all scheduled manager and team meetings and training sessions.
  • Support recruitment initiatives to build and maintain optimal staffing levels, which may include representing the spa at job fairs, industry events, and schools.
  • Assist with the creation and management of the esthetics team's schedule.
  • Work scheduled shifts, provide coverage for shift changes as needed, and adhere to established protocols for time-off requests. Ensure adequate esthetics staff coverage daily.
  • Deliver professional and personalized esthetic services, prioritizing guest needs and exceeding their expectations through exceptional care.
  • Adhere to established treatment protocols and timing guidelines for all services. Contribute to the development of new spa treatments and provide recommendations for retail products.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the spa.

Job Requirements:

  • Exceptional multitasking abilities and the capacity to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
  • Proven ability to navigate complex processes with strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • A proactive, innovative, and results-oriented approach with the capacity to contribute to both short-term and long-term business objectives.
  • Excellent time management skills, the ability to meet deadlines, and flexibility to work varied hours as needed.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to remain composed and effective in challenging situations.
  • Physical capability to occasionally lift over 80 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (4-5 hours at a time), climb stairs, reach, and bend.
  • A high degree of professional and personal integrity.

Education & Experience:

  • Current AP Esthetician or Esthetician license in the State of Minnesota is required
  • One (1) to two (2) years of guest service experience within a spa, hotel, or similar service-focused environment is preferred.
  • Must possess and demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of esthetic services and retail offerings.
  • Demonstrated understanding of daily appointment schedules and service availability.
  • Previous leadership experience is preferred.
  • Cash-handling experience is preferred.
