Position Overview:

We're looking for a hands-on Senior Accountant / Controller to build and own the accounting function from the ground up. In this role, you'll design GAAP-compliant systems, lead financial operations, and work directly with the founders on budgeting and forecasting. This is a rare opportunity to shape the financial backbone of a growing multi-line business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement end-to-end accounting processes (AP/AR, month-end close, reconciliations, internal controls, revenue recognition).
• Produce accurate, timely GAAP financial statements and management reports across three business lines.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP and U.S. tax/regulatory requirements.
• Set up inventory tracking and costing systems for a new equipment-sales vertical.
• Develop and oversee procurement and purchase order workflows.
• Optimize QuickBooks (desktop & online) and Excel workflows; evaluate future ERP needs.
• Transition responsibilities from a mid-level accountant and identify future staffing needs.
• Collaborate with founders on budgeting, forecasting, and KPI dashboards.
• Implement and monitor internal controls to ensure data accuracy and safeguard assets.

Qualifications:

• 4-6 years of accounting experience, including ownership of end-to-end processes.
• Hands-on QuickBooks (desktop & online) and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong working knowledge of US-GAAP and U.S. financial compliance.
• Experience supporting both service- and product-based business models.
• Self-starter with a high degree of ownership and reliability.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Familiarity with job costing or service-based revenue recognition.

Nice-to-Haves:

• Experience with property management software (LeadSimple, AppFolio, PropertyMeld).
• Experience in equipment sales, manufacturing, or distribution.
• Familiarity with inventory systems and POS tools (e.g., Square, Cin7, Zoho).
• Background in implementing procurement or inventory modules in an ERP.
• Experience working with or within American teams or entities.
