Overview

Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) is seeking a positive and engaging Senior Business Intelligence Analyst (Director) for the IT Department to define, develop, and implement data driven solutions in support of operational objectives and efficiency improvements. This role requires technical skills, analytical aptitude, reporting capabilities, attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to communicate effectively.

The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst will:

  • Create and maintain models, reports, and dashboards based on a requirements analysis process and through design sessions with stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to improve existing reporting and data processing workflows and design and develop solutions.
  • Act as a data steward, compiling and maintaining data sources, cataloguing, and ensuring data quality.
  • Advocate for the use of Power BI and Fabric as BI tools, providing guidance to users. 
  • Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs and assist them in making data-driven decisions.
  • Create visual representations of data findings through charts, graphs, and dashboards to communicate insights effectively to stakeholders.
  • Convey analytical results and support decision-making processes within the organization.
  • Data Analysis: Utilize statistical tools and techniques to explore and analyze data, identifying patterns, trends, and relationships.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Professional Experience / Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience with Power BI/Fabric.
  • Solid experience in every aspect of Power BI.
  • Hands-on experience writing DAX and M queries and creating measures to simplify the use of existing models.
  • Ability to “tell a story” through report design, visual elements, and data.
  • Deep understanding of ETL best practices from multiple data stores, including Synapse, SQL, Dataverse, and open APIs, and experience in creating new data models that are clear and reusable.
  • Experience managing SQL databases in Azure. 
  • Knowledge of corporate accounting principles and experience in reporting on accounting data. 
  • Experience developing and supporting applications built in Power Apps.

Potential Salary

$110,500-151,900 per annum. Salary is commensurate with experience and other compensable factors.
