Position Summary
Sepsis Alliance is seeking a mission-driven and detail-oriented Program Coordinator to join our growing team. As the nation’s first and leading sepsis organization, Sepsis Alliance is dedicated to saving lives and reducing suffering by improving sepsis awareness and care. This role plays a vital part in advancing that mission by supporting organizational operations and driving strategic initiatives.

The ideal candidate brings a collaborative mindset and a deep commitment to impactful, purpose-driven work. Working with both the Public Education, Awareness, and Support team and the Healthcare Professional Education and Training (PET) team, the Program Coordinator will ensure optimal creation and distribution of educational activities for healthcare professionals across the continuum of care, while working collaboratively with staff and volunteers to deliver virtual support programming and other resources to those personally impacted by sepsis.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

Member and Event Support:

  • Serve as first-line contact for support inquiries from Sepsis Alliance Connect and Sepsis Alliance Institute users
  • Co-facilitate, along with volunteer facilitators, approximately 50% of recurring and one-time Sepsis Alliance Connect virtual programming, including peer support conversations
  • Moderate discussion forums on community website
  • Prepare for virtual conferences and symposia for healthcare professionals, including general planning, speaker communications, attendee support, and registration tracking
  • Support sponsors in optimizing virtual exhibit booths and gathering materials
  • Coordinate deliverables for special projects with educational components

Program Coordination and Resource Management:

  • Manage logistics of virtual programs: set up Zoom links, send calendar invites, and track registrations
  • Coordinate schedules and documentation with presenters/facilitators
  • Coordinate email communication and reminders
  • Maintain healthcare professional documentation folders and project management tools
  • Maintain user feedback database and identify areas for improvement
  • Coordinate and prepare deliverables for grant-funded projects

Content Management:

  • Add multimedia content, including webinar recordings and event fliers, to Sepsis Alliance platforms
  • Update content on member community website
  • Maintain Sepsis Alliance Connect’s External Resources Directory
  • Update Sepsis Alliance Institute course library
  • Post webinar and event information
  • Support maintenance of Sepsis.org website content in collaboration with communications team
  • Manage online community calendars
  • Create and edit presentations and materials

Database and Reporting:

  • Generate and import participant reports for Sepsis Alliance Institute webinars
  • Prepare data reports, including the monthly Impact Reports and weekly program update email reports
  • Maintain databases for contacts, registrants, and sponsors
  • Support compliance with accreditation standards
  • Support Grants Manager with project reporting

General Administration

  • Attend team and one-on-one meetings
  • Maintain understanding of and suggest improvements for Sepsis Alliance systems and processes, including Monday project management, OneDrive, Salesforce, MS Teams, and others as needed

Qualifications

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • Experience or strong interest in patient/family engagement
  • Experience or strong interest in continuing education for healthcare professionals
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, comfortable communicating professionally and empathetically with sepsis survivors and caregivers, healthcare professionals, and business executives
  • Experience with community management and learning management systems, Higher Logic and Elevate a plus
  • Experience with virtual meeting and webinar software, Zoom and Teams a plus
  • Experience with web content management, WordPress a plus
  • Experience with project management platforms, Monday.com a plus
  • Experience with survey tools, Jotform a plus
  • Database experience preferred, Salesforce a plus
  • High level of familiarity with Microsoft Office suite, especially PowerPoint and Teams
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, experience working remotely preferred
  • Ability to meet project deadlines while juggling multiple tasks
  • Education, experience, or interest in not-for-profit work and/or healthcare a plus
  • Occasional evening availability (currently up to 4 evening programs each month)
  • College degree with 1-3 years of experience

Compensation & Pay Transparency

The salary range for this position is $60,000–$70,000 annually, commensurate with experience, responsibilities, and geographic location.
