We’re looking for a talented, detail-oriented Instructional Designer (Remote) to join our team. Someone with a passion for AI-powered learning to design engaging, intelligent learning experiences that support the adoption of our cloud-based regulatory compliance platform. You’ll have the opportunity to apply emerging AI tools and techniques to streamline learning delivery, personalize user journeys, and scale training across a complex, highly regulated industry. Under the direction of the Learning & Development Manager the Instructional Designer is responsible for the education of staff – including new hire onboarding, product rollout, and upskilling – as well as external customers. This role requires a strong technical aptitude, knowledge of instructional design and adult learning techniques and philosophies, and the ability to convey complex concepts in a clear and engaging manner via e-learning platforms. Our ideal candidate has impeccable written and verbal communication skills, a passion for education, a commitment to user empowerment, and the ability to adapt training approaches to meet diverse learning needs. Insurtech and/or surplus lines tax filing experience is a plus, but we are primarily looking for a lifelong learner hungry for the knowledge needed to provide best-in-class support to internal and external customers.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop instructional content (interactive modules, AI chat-driven tutorials, videos, microlearning) that meets the evolving needs of surplus lines brokers, filers, and compliance teams.
Incorporate AI and machine learning tools (e.g., adaptive learning systems, generative AI for content creation, chatbots) to create more personalized and responsive training experiences.
Work closely with product, compliance, and filing services teams to translate technical and regulatory information into digestible training content.
Champion experimentation with large language model emerging technologies to elevate content quality and learner engagement.
Contribute to a culture of innovation by exploring how AI can augment instructional design, automate workflows, and enhance learner support.
Conduct training sessions, workshops, and webinars for end-users, administrators, state offices, and other stakeholders.
Provide one-on-one or group coaching to address specific user needs and enhance their understanding of the InsCipher platform.
Requirements and Qualifications
4-year college degree in instructional design or educational technology preferred
2+ years of experience in a technical training role, preferably within a SaaS environment
Experienced with AI-assisted course creation using Learning Management Systems (LMS) and e- learning tools
Insurtech or surplus lines tax filing experience a plus
