The purpose of this role is to create solution architectures for systems and platforms ensuring all relevant options are explored for time, cost and compliance to the company’s standards, policies and practices whilst meeting the business’ requirements. The role will oversee the work of other architects and delivery of the solution for clients both internal and external, shepherding it through the relevant governance.
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Cloud-Native Integration Architect to lead the design and development of next-generation digital platforms. In this role, you will architect and deliver federated microservices, enable seamless content operations across Sitecore and modern composable/headless CMS platforms, and champion API-first strategies with a strong emphasis on GraphQL service development.
You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product owners, developers, DevOps engineers, and UX designers, to deliver integrated solutions that are scalable, secure, and optimized for performance. You will report to the Lead Solutions Architect.
This is a remote role. Employees within 90 min of our NY, MI, or IL offices may expect 1 day a week onsite.
Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership
Lead the architectural design and implementation of cloud-native integration patterns, microservices, and APIs.
Develop and guide the adoption of federated GraphQL services and composable architecture principles.
Architect and oversee integrations with CMS platforms such as Sitecore, Contentful, Optimizely, or similar.
Define reusable service components and patterns for both internal and external system integrations.
Collaborate with cloud engineering and DevOps teams to ensure seamless CI/CD workflows and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) deployment strategies.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship across engineering teams.
Ensure solutions comply with enterprise standards, security protocols, and regulatory requirements.
Provide technical direction and mentorship to backend developers.
Solution Architecture
Design composable solutions aligned with solution architecture goals.
Develop and maintain architectural documentation including architecture diagrams, sequence diagrams, deployment topology, etc.
Project Delivery
Translate business requirements into technical specifications and scalable implementations.
Guide development through full SDLC (Agile/Scrum), including code reviews and CI/CD deployment support.
Oversee solution quality, performance optimization, and security compliance.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and UX teams to shape technical feasibility and design.
Act as the technical point of contact for integration-related topics across the project and business unit.
Required Qualifications:
7+ years of experience in software engineering and systems integration, with at least 3 years in an architectural role.
Proven expertise in cloud-native architecture using AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Proven experience in a client-facing technical discovery role
Strong experience developing federated microservices and GraphQL APIs.
Familiarity with modern composable CMS platforms and JAMstack methodologies.
Proficiency in REST, GraphQL, gRPC, and asynchronous messaging (e.g., Kafka).
Strong understanding of DevOps principles, IaC tools (Terraform, Bicep, ARM Templates), and container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes).
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of Sitecore composable, SaaS products including XM Cloud, CH DAM, CDP, and Personalize.
Experience with composable search providers such as Sitecore Search, Algolia, SearchStax, Coveo, etc.
Background in digital experience platforms and omnichannel content delivery
The annual salary range for this position is $113,000 - $182,850. Placement within the salary range is based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other factors permitted by law.
