Description

Licensed Therapist (LPC, LCSW, or LMFT) – Independent Contractor
Part-Time | Approximately 20 hours/week | Virtual

Make a meaningful impact on your terms.
Ascend Medical is seeking a compassionate, skilled therapist to join our innovative Behavioral Health Team. This is a flexible, part-time opportunity ideal for a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) who wants to support patients virtually while maintaining autonomy and balance in their professional life.

In this role, you’ll provide virtual therapy to patients across the lifespan, addressing a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression, ADHD, grief, substance use, life transitions, and more. Sessions may include individual, couples, and adolescent therapy, with scheduling designed around your availability.

Why this role might be a great fit:

  • You want to practice independently while being connected to a supportive care team.
  • You’re energized by working in an innovative and mission-driven environment.
  • You value flexibility, autonomy, and a healthy work-life rhythm.

About Ascend Medical
Founded in 2021, Ascend Medical is redefining healthcare through a fully integrated model that treats the whole person—body, mind, and soul. We seamlessly combine primary care, behavioral health, metabolic health, and emotional wellness to support patients at every stage of life. Our care is delivered across multiple settings—virtually, in-office, and directly within senior care facilities—ensuring convenience, continuity, and accessibility. At Ascend, mental health is not an add-on; it’s a foundational element of how we care for people, embedded alongside physical health in every interaction and care plan.  We’re proud to accept all major insurance plans and to consistently deliver one of the highest patient satisfaction scores in the industry (NPS 95+).

Our Core Values:

  • Patients before Profits
  • Empathy before Expedience
  • Progress before Stagnation
  • Team before Individual
  • Safety before Everything

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide virtual therapy to a diverse patient population through individual, couples, or family sessions.
  • Conduct intake assessments and clinical diagnoses using DSM-5-TR.
  • Develop  and maintain individualized treatment plans, updated at least every 90 days.
  • Document therapy sessions and maintain accurate, timely clinical notes.
  • Utilize evidence-based modalities and maintain high standards of care.
  • Participate in wellness check-ins as needed.
  • Session documentation, consistent with best practices and insurance reimbursement standards, completed in Athena (EMR) within 24 hours of service delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable licensing requirements and practice standards.

Work Environment:
This is a flexible, fully remote opportunity with a schedule built around your availability. Ideal for clinicians seeking work-life balance while contributing to a values-driven, patient-focused healthcare model.

Note: This is a 1099 independent contractor position. As such, it does not include benefits typically associated with W-2 employment (e.g., health insurance, paid leave, retirement contributions). However, it offers a high degree of flexibility and autonomy.

At Ascend, we’re building something different. If you’re an empathetic, proactive therapist ready to help reshape how behavioral health is delivered—one patient at a time—we’d love to hear from you.
