About the role:We are seeking a Field Application Engineer (FAE) to support our customers in successfully integrating and deploying our tracking devices. This role requires hands-on experience with embedded systems and IoT platforms and a strong ability to troubleshoot, communicate, and adapt solutions to meet customer needs. This person will serve as the technical point of contact from evaluation through deployment and long-term support.
Main tasks1. Technical Integration & SupportHelp customers integrate tracking devices into their systems, including hardware, firmware, and connectivity components.
Provide hands-on troubleshooting across embedded and IoT layers (e.g., sensors, GPS, BLE, LTE, LoRa).
Offer remote technical assistance during development and deployment.
2. Pre-Sales Engineering SupportPartner with sales to assess technical requirements and present integration strategies.
Lead product demonstrations and proof-of-concept development for prospective customers.
3. Post-Sales Technical SupportEnsure smooth operation of deployed devices and provide technical guidance post-deployment.
Help customers leverage our cloud platform, APIs, and data interfaces effectively.
4. Feedback to Engineering & Product TeamsCommunicate field insights to product and R&D teams to influence future improvements.
Collaborate internally to resolve edge cases or feature requests identified in the field.
5. Training & DocumentationDeliver technical training, workshops, and onboarding sessions for customers and partners.
Create and maintain user guides, integration documents, and knowledge base articles.
Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
3+ years of experience in embedded systems and IoT product development or support.
Understanding of microcontrollers, communication protocols (UART, SPI, I2C), wireless technologies (LoRa, BLE, LTE-M, NB-IoT) and experience with IoT platforms.
Professional proficiency in English (written and spoken) is required.
Strong problem-solving, diagnostic, and customer-facing communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience with real-time operating systems (e.g., FreeRTOS, Zephyr).
Familiarity with cloud-to-device messaging, device provisioning, and OTA updates.
German language skills are a plus.
