The team plays a critical role in ensuring the stability, scalability, and efficiency of our telephony environment, serving clients around the world. This position offers a blend of project and operational responsibilities, focused on both maintaining and evolving our Telephony infrastructure to meet the needs of a fast-paced, high-availability business.
Your role in the Team’s Success
We are looking for an experienced Senior Telephony Engineer to join our technology team and lead the design, deployment, and support of our enterprise-grade voice systems. In this critical role, you will ensure secure, reliable, and compliant voice communications across our trading desks, branches, and corporate offices. Your expertise will directly support business continuity and the fast-paced demands of financial services
What you’ll do
Design, configure, and manage VoIP and UC systems ( Avaya, Microsoft Teams) across high-availability financial environments.
Ensure secure, compliant telephony systems aligned with industry regulations (FINRA, SOX, PCI-DSS).
Lead projects involving system upgrades, cloud migrations, and unified communications integration.
Implement and manage SIP trunking, call routing, voicemail, auto-attendants, E911, and disaster recovery protocols.
Monitor voice infrastructure performance and quality; ensure uptime and low-latency communication for trading operations and critical teams.
Conduct deep-dive troubleshooting using diagnostic tools like Wireshark; resolve latency and call quality issues rapidly.
Maintain detailed documentation for configurations, call flows, and recovery procedures.
Collaborate with internal network, security, compliance, and support teams, as well as external telecom vendors.
Provide Tier 3 support and mentor engineers or help desk staff on voice technologies and troubleshooting.
What you’ll need for this role
8 - 13 years of experience supporting and engineering enterprise telephony systems, ideally in a financial or regulated environment.
Expertise in VoIP protocols (SIP, RTP) and enterprise voice platforms:
Avaya Aura / IP Office
Microsoft Teams Voice
Genesys Cloud
Strong understanding of call recording, compliance monitoring, and secure voice transmission.
Experience with SBCs, SIP trunking, PRI, QoS, VLANs, and network traffic engineering for voice.
Hands-on experience with packet capture and analysis tools (e.g., Wireshark).
Strong understanding of business continuity and disaster recovery in voice environments.
