Compensation:

Salary Range:

$77,960 - $110,360 (Grade G, 437 points)

Responsibilities:

This position is accountable for producing and preparing efficient, economical and reliable timetables and work programs for NYCT bus and subway service. Prepares supplement timetables and work programs for temporary Subway route diversions and special events. Analyzes and evaluates traffic and ridership data on bus and subway operations. Assists the Assistant Director or Deputy Squad Schedule Manager in the preparation of estimates of financial impact of potential budget modifications, service changes and NYCT Labor agreements.

 

Education and Experience:

A bachelor’s degree in management, Engineering, Mathematics, Planning or Transportation Planning, or their equivalent, and two years of supervisory or management experience in the schedules department of a large transit authority or firm; or

 

1.      Five years progressively responsible transportation experience, one year of which must have been in the schedules department of a large transit authority or firm, two years of which must have been in a supervisory or managerial capacity; or

2.      A satisfactory equivalent of education and experience.

 

Desired Skills:

At least 18 months of experience writing timetables and work programs (crew assignments) for a large transportation provider.

 

  • Five years of managerial or supervisory experience in Operations Planning or

Schedule Department in a large transit system or large transportation provider.

Selection Method:

Based on evaluation of education, skills, experience, and interview.
