The company emphasizes operational excellence and is seeking an experienced property accountant to join its finance team and ensure accurate reporting, compliance, and financial oversight.

Position Overview:

We're hiring a Senior Property Accountant to manage full-cycle accounting for a set of commercial properties. This role includes monthly closings, reconciliations, job cost accounting, lender reporting, and U.S.-based tax filings. You'll work closely with property and asset managers to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely financial deliverables in a remote, high-accountability environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily accounting for assigned commercial properties.
  • Prepare journal entries, intercompany allocations, and month-end closings.
  • Conduct bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Perform job cost accounting, including setup and budget tracking in MRI.
  • Review A/P invoice coding and consult with property staff as needed.
  • Monitor lender reserve accounts and prepare draw requests.
  • Conduct revenue reconciliations and prepare financial reporting packages.
  • Analyze budget vs. actuals and investigate variances.
  • Review and process property-level taxes (property, state, and privilege).
  • Assist in CAM reconciliations and prepare audit/tax workpapers.
  • Support tenant billing, cash receipt reviews, and account reconciliations.
  • Maintain digital documentation and ensure records are audit-ready.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to address discrepancies and improve reporting.


Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of full-cycle accounting experience.
  • Commercial real estate accounting experience required.
  • Proficiency with MRI or similar accounting software.
  • Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Experience with U.S. property tax filings preferred.
  • Excellent time management and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote-first environment.


Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience with Nexus and/or HubSpot.
  • Prior CAM reconciliation experience.
  • Familiarity with U.S. GAAP and multi-entity accounting.
