We are seeking a highly motivated Fire Protection Engineer (m/f/d) for our Data Center Business Unit in Vienna, Austria.
Explore your tasks and responsibilities
- Design and review fire protection and life safety systems (sprinklers, detection, suppression, alarm, etc.) for data center facilities
- Ensure compliance with all applicable codes and client-specific standards
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including MEP, civil, structural, and IT engineers
- Perform hydraulic calculations and modeling for fire suppression systems
- Oversee fire safety systems installation during the construction phase
- Conduct risk assessments and provide technical solutions for fire hazards in mission-critical environments
- Interface with local AHJs (Authorities Having Jurisdiction) and support permitting processes
- Support commissioning, inspections, and system testing to ensure fire systems are fully operational
Show your expertises
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field
- Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred
- MSeveral years of experience in fire protection design, preferably for mission-critical or industrial projects
- Deep knowledge of NFPA standards, fire codes and best practices
- Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design tools; knowledge of fire modeling software a plus
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Fluent in English, ideally also in German
