BETA Group, Inc. is one of New England’s leading geospatial consulting firms, delivering data-driven GIS solutions that enhance infrastructure planning, asset management, and environmental resiliency. We are seeking a highly skilled GIS Analyst to join our growing GIS & Asset Management team.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical proficiency in GIS, with demonstrated experience in geospatial data management, web map, and dashboard creation in ArcGIS Online, and mobile data collection using ArcGIS Field Maps and Survey123. This position involves working directly with municipal and utility clients to support GIS-driven asset inventories, infrastructure assessments, and spatial analysis efforts. The successful applicant will bring a deep understanding of spatial data, cartographic principles, and Esri technologies; and will be capable of developing and maintaining efficient, user-friendly geospatial tools and products.
Responsibilities:
Designing, deploying, and managing Survey123 forms using both Survey123 Connect and the web designer
Conducting in-field data collection using mobile applications such as ArcGIS Field Maps and Survey123 for right or way assets including utilities
Performing field inspections, recording conditions, and verifying location data for municipal infrastructure assets
Using ArcGIS Pro for spatial analysis, data editing, and cartographic output
Supporting the development and maintenance of geodatabases, including domain and subtype management
Building and maintaining intuitive and visually engaging ArcGIS Online web maps, Dashboards, and Experience Builder apps to support client decision-making
Assisting project managers in preparing deliverables, maps, and reports
Collaborating with team members to troubleshoot data issues and provide technical GIS support to clients
Preferred location is BETA’s Lincoln office. Candidates should have flexibility to work from our other office locations. BETA also offers a hybrid work schedule, allowing employees to request working remotely up to 2 days per week.

Requirements
Required Experience/Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Geographic Information Systems or related field
5 - 7 years of relevant experience
Solid understanding of GIS principles, coordinate systems, geodatabase design, and cartographic standards
A solid understanding of technical applications, concepts, and theories in GIS
Proficient in ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, Survey123, and Field Maps
Demonstrated ability to create visually appealing and intuitive maps, with a keen eye for cartographic design and aesthetics
Proficient with developing geodatabases and schemas (domains, subtypes)
Must be able to collect field data and measurements including but not limited to roadway, sidewalk, and utility assets; and perform asset inspections
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Demonstrate strong technical aptitude and learning skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong problem-solving skills
High attention to detail
Must be able to lift/move objects weighing up to 40 pounds
Must be able to perform field work in both hot and cold weather (rain and/or snow)
Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time
Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Preferred Experience/Skills:
Master’s degree in Geographic Information Systems or related field
Experience with municipal GIS
Familiarity with public infrastructure assets (e.g., drainage, pavement, utilities)
Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise
GISP Certification
