Key responsibilities:

  • Manage financial transactions, including supplier invoices, payments, and receipts.
  • Prepare and verify payroll, lodge tax declarations, and reconcile wages.
  • Generate financial reports such as Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss, and BAS submissions.
  • Liaise with accountants and ensure accurate financial record-keeping.

Setup and Location: WFH
Work Schedule: 8:00 AM-5:00 PM (AEST) | 6:00 AM-3:00 PM (PH Time)

We seek a Senior Bookkeeper to manage financial transactions and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations. The ideal candidate for this role should possess a strong background in accounting principles and experience with accounting software. This role is critical for maintaining the financial health and transparency of the organization.

What You’ll Do
Processing and reports
  • Enter and verifying the entry of supplier invoices into accounting software
  • Enter and/or verifying the entry of payments and receipts from bank
  • Email any queries related to the accounts for the period
  • Ensure the correct integration of different business systems into the accounting record, (for example
  • delivery platforms)
  • Reconciliation and/or verification of the of all bank, loan and credit card accounts
  • Report Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss weekly / monthly
  • Report outstanding debtors and creditors

Payroll
  • Setup employees in payroll system
  • Prepare payroll weekly/fortnightly/monthly
  • Lodge Single Touch Payroll Pay Event weekly/fortnightly/monthly
  • Monitor employee entitlements
  • Lodge Tax File Number declarations
  • Review, advise and lodge PAYG Withholding and Superannuation
  • Reconcile End of Year wages
  • Report End of Year wages and Lodge Single Touch Payroll

BAS and payroll tax lodgements
  • Review and report on monthly/quarterly BAS
  • Email reports and declarations to the business owner or other nominated contact
  • Lodgement of BAS upon receipt of authority
  • Lodgement of Payroll tax upon receipt of authority
  • Yearly GST reconciliation and relevant BAS adjustments

EOFY
  • Review end of year reports
  • Provide accountant with information as required for year end
  • Liaise with the accountant as to any End of Year journals or adjustments
  • Ensure essential business records are maintained and stored for the financial year
  • Roll file over to new financial year
What You Bring

  • Proven experience in bookkeeping and payroll processing in the Food & Beverage or Hospitality sector
  • Strong knowledge of Xero and Dext
  • Familiarity with Australian tax laws, BAS, and EOFY procedures
  • Ability to interpret Hospitality Awards and employment legislation
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
