Job description

Description

ENGAGEMENT SUMMARY:

We are seeking a Fractional Creative Consultant (contract-based) that will be responsible for leading both creative direction and execution for the Boochcraft and Mood brands. Operating on a monthly retainer (10-12 hours/week), this individual will own end-to-end creative deliverables—including campaign concepts, AI-integrated visuals, video direction, and execution-ready assets.

Collaborating with the Marketing Director, Social Content Specialist, CEO, and external creators, we require an independent creative professional with the expertise to bridge the gap between strategy and hands-on design, someone who brings sharp visual standards, strong design chops, and the ability to work efficiently within a fast-moving, small team environment.

This is not an employee role and should not be interpreted as an offer of employment. The contractor is expected to manage their own time, tools, expenses, and processes, and is free to work with other clients.

SCOPE OF WORK:

Key Deliverables:

  • Campaign creative briefs (photo, video, and design)
  • Launch concept decks with mood boards and copy direction
  • Creative direction and feedback on major brand initiatives including campaigns, packaging updates, positioning, etc.
  • Updated brand guidelines, toolkits, and tone docs
  • Tactical asset creation when needed (emails, website assets, photos, etc.)

Meeting Commitments:

  • Weekly Creative Check-In: Sync with Marketing Director to align on priorities, provide status updates, and review in-progress creative
  • Monthly Creative Brainstorm: Lead collaborative sessions to generate ideas for campaigns, seasonal storytelling, or visual experimentation
  • Ad-hoc creative review or production check-ins, scheduled as needed and with advanced notice based on availability

Creative Strategy, Execution & Direction:

  • Translate brand and marketing goals into compelling visual solutions, both conceptually and tactically
  • Recommend and experiment with AI-powered tools to scale creative output

Brief Development & Oversight:

  • Develop clear, concise creative briefs for all design, photo, and video projects
  • Provide actionable direction to freelance collaborators and ensure high-quality output

Brand Campaigns & Content:

  • Lead concepting, scripting, and visual storytelling for campaign and brand videos
  • Create shot lists, outline production plans, and collaborate during post-production
  • Integrate emerging tools and motion design techniques into quick-turn and evergreen video content

Optimization & Evolution:

  • Audit and evolve brand visuals for clarity, cohesion, and cultural relevance
  • Introduce AI-generated enhancements and new creative techniques when beneficial
  • Document updated brand visuals, tone, and creative frameworks for broader team use

Executional & Tactical Support:

  • Provide overflow or stopgap creative work when timelines are tight
  • Build design assets (email, website, digital visuals) as needed.

The contractor is not an employee. All deliverables will be outlined in monthly scopes, with flexibility for review and updates.

A portfolio of your creative work is required as part of the evaluation process.
