Job description

Summary of Position: 

The Representative Sr, Supply Chain will lead strategic procurement initiatives, manage critical supplier relationships, and drive cost-effective sourcing strategies around (Drilling or Completions) categories. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of upstream operations, global supply markets, contract negotiations, and category management to support long-term operational and commercial success. 

 

Primary Job Responsibilities: 

  • Lead end-to-end strategic sourcing efforts across key spend categories such as equipment, services, chemicals, MRO, and capital projects.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders (engineering, operations, finance, legal, HSE) to develop sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Identify and qualify suppliers, negotiate contracts, and drive value creation through the strategic sourcing process (RFP/RFQ), total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis, and contract optimization.
  • Monitor supplier performance and develop KPIs to ensure quality, reliability, and compliance with safety and ESG standards.
  • Analyze market trends, cost drivers, and geopolitical risks to support decision-making and mitigate supply chain disruptions.
  • Support major capital project procurement planning, including long-lead items and international sourcing.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical sourcing principles.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to optimize sourcing processes and tools (e.g., OpenContract, OpenRFx, OpenInvoice).

Education & Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field. Masters or relevant certifications preferred
  • 8+ years of experience in strategic sourcing or procurement, with at least 4 years in the oil & gas sector.
  • Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management skills.
  • Deep understanding of procurement lifecycle, cost structures, and sourcing analytics.
  • Proven ability to manage complex categories and high-value contracts in a fast-paced, safety-sensitive environment.
  • Proficiency with sourcing tools and ERP systems (Enverus “Open” Products, SAP, Microsoft Office, etc.).
  • Experience supporting capital projects or joint ventures preferred

Travel & Additional Requirements:

  • Location: Work is performed at a CIVI location Monday through Thursday with the option of working remotely on Fridays.
  • Schedule: traditional 40-hour workweek or alternative schedule of 9-hour workdays Monday through Thursday and 4-hour workdays on Friday, as business needs allow and with manager approval.
  • Travel may be required to other Civitas offices and field locations.

Base Pay Range: $130,000 - $150,000
