Newfi Lending is one of the largest NonQM lenders; part of Apollo Global Management/Athene, Newfi is a fast-growing residential mortgage lender, ready to expand our national presence. We are seeking an SVP of Correspondent Operations & Fulfillment. The ideal candidate will be someone who has experience in NonQM and delegated/non-delegated lending. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Correspondent Operations and fulfillment processes within our organization. You will lead a team to ensure efficient and effective handling of Correspondent systems and processes, while maintaining the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in operations management, strong leadership skills, and a keen eye for process optimization. This is a remote position.

 
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize correspondent operations and fulfillment processes, with a focus on efficiency, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness
  • Lead and manage a team of employees responsible for handling Correspondent loans
  • Manage and maintain vendor relationships that include TPR diligence and fulfillment
  • Establish performance goals and metrics for the operations team, and monitor performance against these goals, implementing corrective actions as needed
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Customer Service, Sales, and IT, to streamline operations and improve overall service delivery
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards governing operations and fulfillment activities
  • Oversee the development and implementation of training programs for operations staff to ensure competency and adherence to best practices
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies, systems, and tools to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness
  • Analyze data and generate reports to track key performance indicators, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to improve operations
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence within the operations team
  • Serve as a point of escalation for complex issues and inquiries related to Correspondent Operations and fulfillment
  • Responsible for assessing loan risk, and help solve complex loan issues based on the quality of the data in the loan file
  • Adhere to all applicable internal NPI policy and procedures and protect the confidentiality of borrower information
Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in building and leading Correspondent Operation Teams
  • Strong communication skills and ability to captivate and communicate with various audiences both internal and external
  • Solid understanding of Capital Markets and Servicing as it relates to buying flow business
  • Keen awareness to identify problems / issues within the Correspondent Operation and develop solutions 
  • Must have NonQM underwriting and product knowledge 
  • Understand and deliver exceptional Correspondent customer experience
  • Proven experience in operations management, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role overseeing Correspondent Operations and Fulfillment functions
  • Knowledge and experience in working with vendors to include TPR diligence, fulfillment and others
  • Self-starter mentality with the ability to solve open ended business challenges
  • Experience with Meridian Link Mortgage is desired
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
