Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Leadership and Team Management
- Supervise and provide direction to a team of scientists and project managers in the Stow Ohio office.
- Provide mentorship and training to managers and technical staff to enhance their skills and knowledge of supervising environmental compliance projects, ensuring timelines, and meeting budgets.
- Foster a collaborative work environment to enhance productivity and team cohesion.
- Develop project scopes, timelines, and budgets.
Technical Expertise
- Execute and oversee editing and release of technical materials.
- Manage staff through multimedia sampling projects and ensure accuracy of field work.
- Oversee and performing audits, inspections and site visits in both rural and industrial settings.
- Ability to represent the client’s best interests and support the client as needed during the duration of the project.
- Have the proven ability to complete concurrent assignments in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and stay on schedule.
- Create and provide approval of project proposals, scopes of work, and budgets for compliance projects developed by staff
Regulatory Compliance Management
- Oversee compliance with environmental laws such as the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and other relevant local, state, and federal regulations.
- Ensure proper documentation and reporting are in place for regulatory agencies.
- Monitor changes in environmental regulations and adjust internal policies accordingly.
Training & Communication
- Develop and deliver training programs for employees on environmental policies, emergency response protocols, and best practices for compliance.
- Communicate with senior management about environmental risks, compliance status, and potential impacts on business operations.
Health, Safety, and Environmental Protocols
- Promote a culture of health and safety across all projects.
- Implement risk management strategies to minimize hazards during inspections.
- Ensure all fieldwork follows company safety policies and industry best practices.
- Schedule and maintain group meetings that include safety and environmental protocols.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: 5-7 years of experience in environmental compliance or field work.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience:
- Willingness and ability to learn new systems, equipment, and skills
- Experience with soil classification
- Experience operating and working on a boat/water.
- Experience in the industrial, manufacturing, or energy sectors.
- Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
- Experience conducting audits, preparing reports, and managing environmental permits.
Desired Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess environmental risks and find effective solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively across departments and with regulatory agencies.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in environmental management software and reporting tools.
- Leadership skills to guide compliance efforts and lead sustainability initiatives.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions in high-pressure situations, particularly during environmental emergencies.
Work Environment
We enjoy and appreciate collaboration as a team and expect great communication from the candidate. Teamwork is anticipated through one on ones with staff but will also need to occur through many phone and text/email conversions. Work will include office time to collaborate with other managers and staff.
This candidate is expected to come into the Stow, Ohio office daily to assist staff and project workload. Remote and work from home will occur as needed and with pre-approval from their manager. For any remote work. uninterrupted home-based internet is a must in your home to attend and host video calls, along with a minimum bandwidth speed of 20 mbps.

Physical Requirements:
- Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 lbs.
- Communication with others to exchange information.
- Working outdoors in all kinds of weather as necessary for project(s).
- Walking for periods of time including maneuvering uneven, uphill, and downhill terrain, project specific.
Travel Requirements: Candidate will have flexibility for occasional travel/ overnight stay to assist with field assignments as needed.
