Job Summary

We are seeking a Philippines-based Intermediate Accountant to work remotely with UK accounting firms, providing high-quality financial and accounting services. The ideal candidate will handle intermediate-level accounting tasks, including financial reporting, tax compliance support, and ledger maintenance. This role is ideal for professionals with experience in UK accounting practices who are ready to support multiple clients in a dynamic and remote environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting:
    • Prepare financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
    • Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly management accounts.
  • Tax Compliance Support:
    • Assist with VAT return preparation and submission in compliance with UK regulations.
    • Support in corporation tax calculations and filings.
  • Ledger Maintenance:
    • Perform bank reconciliations and maintain accurate general ledger records.
    • Manage accounts payable and receivable entries for clients.
  • Client Support:
    • Communicate with UK-based accounting firms to gather financial information.
    • Provide regular updates on client accounts and address any discrepancies.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Suggest improvements to enhance client bookkeeping and accounting workflows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of accounting experience, preferably with UK clients or firms.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or similar tools.
  • Solid understanding of UK accounting principles, VAT regulations, and payroll basics.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection and home office setup.

Preferred but Not Required

  • Experience with Dext, Syft, or BrightPay is an asset.
  • Knowledge of UK payroll systems and compliance.
