Job description

Reporting to the VP Transplant Lab Solutions, EMEA & APAC, the Sales Manager, EMEA is responsible for the commercial success of CareDx’s product lines across selected regions in Europe – Italy, Iberia, Balkans, Greece and Cyprus. The portfolio includes pre-transplant solutions such as HLA typing as well as post-transplant patient surveillance solutions for solid organ and hematopoietic cell transplant recipients.

You will be responsible for opening new sales opportunities and closing existing sales opportunities through a combination of hunting (70%) and farming (30%) activities to achieve CareDx’s top-line EMEA revenue target. The Sales Manager will primarily drive sales through managing distributor relationships. The Sales Manager will be responsible for weekly reporting of opportunity pipeline development (Qualification → Closed Won) and working with post-sales teams (Field Application Specialists). Strong emphasis on closing annual volume and multi-year contracts will be your priority. The ideal candidate has demonstrated prior success driving uptake of new and existing products. A record of accomplishment, closing deals and building senior client relationships, and/or launching new products is required. The position is field-based within Portugal or Spain nearby any major airport.

Responsibilities:

  • Build relationships with customer accounts as identified by the CareDx Management Team and VP Transplant Lab Solutions, EMEA &APAC
  • Develop new business opportunity pipeline for the CareDx entire product portfolio - including pre and post-transplant solutions
  • Close annual volume and multi-year business contracts with key accounts across the EMEA territory
  • Cold-contacting prospects identified as Key Accounts by the CareDx Management Team and VP Transplant Lab Solutions, EMEA & APAC
  • Deliver in-market or webinar-based pre-sales presentations
  • Own management of existing accounts to:
  • drive increased utilization of the existing product portfolio at that account
  • drive adoption of new/alternative products (cross sell) within that account
  • provide feedback from accounts to R&D and Product Development teams
  • manage post-sales activities (support and training) to ensure best-in-class levels of customer satisfaction
  • Work as part of the Global CareDx Commercial Team
  • Work closely and collaborate with the other CareDx teams including FAS Team and Support Teams in Stockholm and Brisbane, California
  • Organize in-market activities such as presentations, workshops and on-site training
  • Attend key conferences in the region to represent CareDx and its vision to improve transplant patient outcomes
  • Work with distributors in EMEA countries to enable commercial and customer success
  • Additional duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Passion for improving patient outcomes in transplantation
  • Excellent business judgement with a patient-first focus
  • Experience with pre-and post-transplant clinical diagnostics
  • PhD or M.Sc with 3+ years equivalent clinical/research experience, or B.Sc with 10+ years equivalent research experience in molecular biology, biotechnology, genomics or similar
  • At least 2 years in a similar role
  • Hunter mentality for developing new business
  • Farmer mentality for nurturing accounts with cross sell, upsell and product utilization
  • Self-motivated, works well under minimal supervision
  • Driven to continuous improvement
  • Disciplined and diligent approach to selling, time management and reporting
  • NGS, HLA or molecular biology background in Sales, Marketing or similar
  • Confident strong communicator of the benefits of scientific and technical products
  • High energy level; positive attitude; works well in a rapidly evolving business environment
  • Comfortable with NGS analysis software
  • Excellent negotiation skills, with a proven track record of closing agreements on mutually favorable terms; strong aptitude working with legal contracts
  • Track record of exceeding revenue targets and developing and closing successful collaborations or transactions
  • Strong CRM and data analysis skills; ability to form data-driven insights
  • A desire to work in a high growth and results-oriented team environment
  • Unrelenting intellectual curiosity
  • Languages: English (proficient level)
  • Travel required up to 75%
