Job description

Our client, a leading California-based law firm, is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to join their General Liability practice group. This position is ideal for attorneys with 3+ years of litigation experience who want to grow their career with a top-tier team known for excellence in defense work.

You’ll handle a range of general liability matters, including auto accidents, premises liability, habitability claims, and product liability cases. The role offers flexibility to work remotely with the expectation of occasional in-person court appearances.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in civil litigation matters, including court hearings, depositions, and mediations
  • Draft and respond to discovery, pleadings, and motions
  • Develop case strategies in coordination with senior attorneys and clients
  • Attend court proceedings, settlement conferences, and trials as needed
  • Maintain accurate case records and meet internal and client deadlines

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Active and in-good-standing membership with the California State Bar
  • Must reside in California and be able to appear in-person for court matters
  • At least 3 years of experience in litigation, ideally in general liability defense
  • Strong legal research, writing, and communication skills

Preferred Experience:

  • Hands-on experience in:
    • Auto liability
    • Premises liability
    • Habitability
    • Product liability
  • Proven skills in motion practice, discovery, and depositions
  • Courtroom advocacy and trial preparation

Salary & Benefits:

  • Base Salary: $130,000–$170,000 (DOE)
