Job description

Horizon Tech is seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Architectural Drafter / CAD Designer to join our client's dynamic team. This role is crucial in supporting the structural design and drafting of custom building projects, ensuring safety, comfort, and engineering compliance. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with engineers to produce accurate designs using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, SketchUp, and other specialized drafting tools.

Requirements:

  • A high school diploma, Degree or Certificate in Drafting. Working towards a degree in Engineering is a plus.
  • Other training and experience will be considered. Will train for this position.
  • Ability to work at a computer for long periods.
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented.
  • Mathematical - Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers and decimals. Ability to do complex integrity and design analysis.
  • Reasoning - Ability to solve complex problems. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
  • Language - Ability to read and interpret documents such as work orders, safety rules, shop drawings, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Must be able to communicate with others to convey information effectively.

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to use our CAD software, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Sketchup, Frame Builder-MRD, Truss D&E, Scot Design, Flash Cut CNC.
  • Answer incoming phones and learn our Metal Shop program to make estimates and orders for customers. As needed. This program is also used for All Metal Structures as well.
  • Ability to read and create drawings and blueprints.
  • Answering incoming phone calls as needed.
  • Create Quotes using our software quoting system, which would include the structural components as well as exterior sheeting and components.
  • Troubleshoot design challenges and provide innovative solutions to enhance product functionality and aesthetics.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, track design changes, and ensure all designs meet regulatory and safety standards.
  • Have a Teamwork mindset.
  • Must be self-motivated to make efficient use of time.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, project managers, and production staff, to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion while maintaining the highest quality standards.
  • Attention to detail is a must!
  • Sense of urgency and work diligence.

  • Job Timings: A Night shift follows the US-EST time zone.
  • Office Location: Shahrah-e-Faisal, Karachi.
