Description

Join our team as Grants Manager dedicated to our Solar For All initiative and help deliver meaningful, measurable impact to communities.

Reporting to the Deputy Program Director, you’ll steward every stage of our Solar For All - CHARGE (Communities Helping America Renew and Grow the Economy) grant-making cycle—from application review through project close-out—for community-serving solar developments across multiple states. You’ll translate federal requirements into clear guidance for awardees, keep complex construction schedules and budgets on track, and partner with Legal and Finance to ensure impeccable compliance, reporting accuracy, and on-time payments.

Success in this role requires a blend of rigorous project management, federal grant fluency, and relationship-building savvy. You’ll juggle dozens of projects simultaneously, spot risks before they escalate, and coach grantee partners so that every funded installation delivers maximum impact for the households and communities we serve.

About us

As Texas's pioneering non-profit green bank, Clean Energy Fund of Texas (CEFTX) is transforming how clean energy solutions reach communities across our state. We bridge financial gaps and create opportunities for smart investments in energy efficiency, solar, and wind power—making sustainable energy both accessible and affordable for every Texan.

Our mission extends beyond environmental impact. We're driving economic development and energy independence where it matters most—in historically underserved communities that have long faced barriers to clean energy adoption. Through innovative financing solutions and strategic partnerships, we're empowering families, businesses, and communities to join Texas's clean energy transition.

As a U.S. EPA Solar for All awardee, CEFTX leads the CHARGE initiative across a multi-state region. Through CHARGE, we’re partnering with higher education institutions - especially Minority-Serving Institutions (MSIs) - local contractors, and grassroots organizations to build solar projects that reflect community priorities and deliver lasting change. From energy savings and emissions reduction to workforce development and STEM education, CHARGE isn't just about powering homes—it’s about powering opportunity.

In this role, you’ll primarily be responsible for

 Project Management & Oversight

  • Serve as primary point of contact for applicants, awardees, contractors, and other stakeholders to communicate program requirements, provide technical guidance, verify and communicate project progress, address issues, and resolve conflicts.
  • Monitor the progress of community solar projects through our three-phased award process, ensuring that grant activities are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with all applicable program requirements and regulations.
  • Develop and implement project schedules, track progress, and manage risks.
  • Provide training and technical assistance to project awardees and their contractors to ensure compliance with federal grant requirements and best practices.

Grants Administration

  • Facilitate the grantmaking workflow, keeping all stakeholders apprised of scheduled deadlines and process changes.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to address grant-related issues and ensure smooth workflow.
  • Receive and enter grants data into grants management and online filing systems and ensure integrity of data, in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements and with the organization’s own processes and requirements.
  • Work with the Deputy Director to develop or revise applications and grantee report formats to ensure data can be tracked in grants management software.
  • Oversee standard terms and conditions for grant award letters, agreements, and contracts and collaborate with the Legal team as needed. Provide clear and concise grants administration policies and procedures for project applicants and awardees.
  • Provide links between program staff and consultants and internal teams so that all grant management activities are smoothly implemented.
  • Conduct ongoing grants administration and research, including analyses of grant reports and trends.
  • Conduct due diligence of grantees, including reviewing all applications for red flags around legal requirements
  • Work with the finance team to schedule wire transfers within the online banking system and communicate payment information and verification to grant recipients.

Program Support

  • Produce reports on grants information, including data visualizations and analyses as requested for program management, reports to leadership or the CEFTX Board, external stakeholders and oversight entities
  • Solicit and receive grant reports, log reports in system, and link to database.
  • In coordination with senior staff and consultants, participate in efforts to improve and iterate upon grants management system and processes.
  • Serve as the point of contact for as-needed grant data requests and projects, including producing reports on the organization’s grantmaking and producing data visualizations.
  • Provide analyses, data, reports, and other materials for internal and external program purposes, including but not limited to the impact and reach of the program portfolios.
  • Maintain relationships in alignment with the strategy at CEFTX through relationship building; act as a connector for staff to organize spaces that further the organization’s vision.

Core Qualifications
