Job description

World Artist

Reach Game Studios is looking for a 3D artist to work on the studio's upcoming FPS RPG, GLORY.

Responsibilities:

As a world artist you will be responsible for:

  • Working with the Design Team to shape the artistic requirements for the various environments in GLORY.
  • Working with concept artists to translate their vision, along with the requirements from leads into an in-game world.
  • Work within small multi-disciplinary teams assigned to various related tasks on the project.
  • Light spaces using in-engine lighting tools.
  • Create dynamic palattes of 3D modular pieces for designers to implement in the world.
  • See geometry through all stages of development to a finished piece.
  • UV/Texture painting.
  • Rigging/world animation experience a plus but not essential.
Requirements:

For this role we are looking for:

  • A great showreel or portfolio of past 3D work, both geometrically and in terms of texture work. Prior shipped work is not required for this position.
  • Familiarity with Unreal Engine art pipelines including PBR, texture mapping, lighting, etc. Kismet and Blueprint systems knowledge preferred but not essential.
  • High degree of familiarity with 3D and 2D creative suite software such as Maya, Photoshop (and other Adobe products), 3DS Max, etc.
  • Understand design principles and methodologies, particularly with regards to world design and how it affects gameplay.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent team-working and leadership skills.
  • A passion for videogames, science fiction, RPGs, and/or shooters preferred.
Remuneration:

The position is currently a contract royalty-based position, with view to full-time employment post-launch. Contract amount is competitive and negotiable.

Location:

While we prioritize Australian/New Zealand applicants, we are a remote studio and consider international applications.
